2.5. Yeah, that was alright, not very good tbh. Especially the #AskLP were SO weird. If they had fitted the chapter that would have been fine, but it was just SO random. Meh

This book made me really appreciate good writing because of how terrible the writing in this book is. I felt like I was reading a 12 year old’s diary and there were way too many personal stories that I had zero interest in.

The author is incredibly lucky to have sooo many long lasting friendships, most people that I’ve been friends with are really flakey and don’t keep in contact so I don’t understand how the writer has managed it!

F is also for FAST read, able to FLIP through this book with Lily Pebbles putting the FUN in a Fundamental read for us gal pals. Surprising there hasn't been a book like this out there, so it's extra gratifying to be given this resource in helping us understand the roles we play thru choice and instinct in our female friendships. Been there, met that and healed the scars from those toxic sisters still asleep at the wheel. Share this book, hand it to your gal pal, leave it in a free library, mail it to the ones who need it, especially those whom you may not have talked to as often as you both wanted just because life can be distracting. So take a breath, seize the moment, and be the friend you love.

I started off reading this book enjoying the fact that it seemed like a light read. What I ended up not enjoying so much was the highly condescending tone throughout the book - whatever the author’s opinion was, sounded like we should take it for gospel.

I would have enjoyed it more if there were more studies, actual facts rather than one story/example per friend type, which made for really hard to take seriously.

Pros; This book had me thinking a lot about my female friendships, and talking to my bestie throughout it. It reminded me to reach out to a friend who was struggling to check in, and let her know I'm thinking about her. It reminded me of the biggest falling out I've had with my oldest friend, though I couldn't remember why we fell out.

Cons; The book felt a bit unrefined, the concept and the germs of the idea were really strong but the end product had me frustrated, or simply surprised at points.

If you are a fan of Lily, it's worth a read. It was clearly a passion project of hers, and has impacted me. It wasn't the book I was expecting.

Schrijfstijl is oké, leest makkelijk weg. Lily’s YouTube kanaal is een aanrader, dit boek niet.

The female friends, amistades femeninas.

I love Lily and have watched her YouTube channel for years. I liked that this book was about a topic and not just another YouTuber book about too many different topics. I did find some of the advice a tiny bit cheesy but I enjoyed the book very much none the less. I wish she had included photos but understand that her friends may not have wanted that!
