This book is amazing. Totally made me re-think the way I approach my faith...and made me realize that I don't trust God enough with everything in my life. Very sobering look at lukewarm Christianity.

Frighteningly simple message.
And yet, people talk about this book as if it were some revolutionary piece of theological work. Then again, most American Christians nowadays are very disconnected with what the Bible has to say at all, and practice it even less. But if you understand even the basis of the Christian faith and how God says you should live your life, this is technically a reiteration of everything you've ever heard.
My actual rating for this book is a 2.5, and it only barely saved itself from being placed below that with the very last couple sections, those sections being examples of how people actually live it out. Those parts were cool to read since I find testimonies like that interesting, but aside from that, I wasn't impressed. That's nothing against the book, however. It simply was not a good fit for me because I found it too basic. But if anyone finds themselves wondering if God wants more from them and needs some basic guidelines, (though those can be found in the Bible, though some need them deciphered as well), I'd recommend this book to them.

In Crazy Love, Francis Chan teaches about the amazing love of God and how we should respond to that love. This book helped and changed me in so many ways. More than anything, though, it helped me to stop doing things for God out of obligation and guilt but, instead, start spending time with Him out of love. I no longer read the Bible or pray because I feel like I have to but because I want to. I want to love the LORD more, know Him better, and grow in my relationship with Him.

Overall, I am giving this book 4.5 stars. Definitely a new favorite :).

God bless.

Enjoyable book, with challenges for the way we live as Christians. The focus of the book deals with being a devoted Christ-follower, "obsessed" with loving God, as opposed to being a lukewarm so-called "Christian."

Three of the thought-worthy challenges that stuck with me:
-Would we be satisfied with a heaven with everything good (all our friends and family, peace and joy...) but where Jesus was absent?
-Do we live in such a way that our lives *don't make sense* to unbelievers?
-What would happen if we abandoned the "American Dream" and started a new movement called "Aspiring to the Median" where we intentionally lowered our standard of living to give more generously to others?

The book contained good challenges and explications of various parables, while also not difficult to read.

I deeply love this book. It shook up my comfortable little world and ignited a passion for living dangerously and radically for Christ. Not a comfortable read!

Challenging read in looking at the way we live our every day lives and to stop and see what the Bible says rather than justify things to be the way we would like them based on our own comfort

What I love about Francis Chan is that he really lives out what he preaches. He seeks God and so I find his words challenging and encouraging. This book was thought-provoking and a good reminder of what should be demanding my time, my heart, my all. However, I've been thinking about these things and reading similar stuff for awhile, so most of it was not very new to me.

THE GOOD: It is a really easy read, and whats more, the author leaves you wanting more after every chapter.

THE BAD: This book was motivating, but perhaps overly simple.

THE UGLY: Read it if you are in need of a Holy Spirit boost, otherwise, there is not much else (i.e: new insights) you might gain from reading this book.
