originally, I loved the spits, the tits and the artwork, reminding me on a less flakey quentin blake, however on second inspection, the story sagged and is not stand alone

Uproarious and with a wonderful drawing style. The only are free and loose, the composition ordered but with speed and vivacity. There's drama to the inks, and the story is hilarious, Perdy is an excellent creation, busting through life

multiple parts of this made me laugh out loud but
Perdy basically raped someone
and it wasn’t adequately addressed for my liking. it was only one small scene but it kind of ruined the rest of the book for me

Perdy isn't winning any awards for positive female representation here, but it is what it says it will be: a bawdy romp of fightin', fuckin', and flowers. The lettering is horrific but I still enjoyed reading this, so 4 stars.

She's filthy; she's sex-crazed; she's spent 15 years behind bars for robbing banks and she gets out to rob more banks and find her daughter. Except her entrepreneurial daughter seeks to escape her shadow while she seeks to bed her choice of men. What can possibly go wrong? Perdy is filthy. But it also muses on the condition of strong-willed women in the Wild-West. Is it an indictment or a celebration? Only the reader can decide. I walked away a fan of its light-heartedness though of course the PC Brigade lambasts it for its perceived vulgarity.

Thanks again to Edelweiss+ for providing me with a copy of this!

This is a very different style of comic to anything I usually read. Firstly, it's an old Western style comic. It's also kind of a comedy; tons of dodgy jokes and sexual innuendos throughout. There's also a lot of swearing and crass language.

The main character is Perdy, a woman a little past her prime, who is released from a 15-year prison sentence at the start of this book. As the cover suggests, Perdy is a big fan of sex. She uses her womanly charm to seduce men - or teach them a lesson, depending on the situation.

The story gets interesting when we meet Rose, a young woman running a flower shop in Petiteville. She also happens to be the daughter of Perdy. She is pursuing a new-found love interest when her mother returns to the scene, interfering with her relationship. As Rose becomes exceedingly irritated by her mother, we see into her past life. The book ends with Rose planning to get rid of her mother again.

I liked the sketchy style of the panels, as well as the handwriting-style font. The 'voice' of Perdy is really well-developed, and I am definitely interested in what's happened between Perdy and Rose. I'm giving this 3.5 to 4 stars.

Had I been able to open the pages of this one in the shop I might have passed, but it was sealed and for good reason. It is sold on "sex" but what you really get is rape played for laughs, an omnipresent creepy male gaze, sex with an intoxicated woman who falls asleep (hey rape #2!), and a little bit of racism thrown in for good measure.

The vulgarity of the titular character seemingly only exists to make the book seem "edgy." This reads like the author has never actually met a woman in his life and just had a boner thinking about speaking to one the entire time he was writing this. I do not know who the mysterious "Kickliy" is but I'm gonna guess it's a bearded white dude. (This writing just reeks of bearded white dude.)

I was excited about the western setting, and the bawdy character I was promised, but this just missed the mark so hard, I don't know what to say. I generally love adult comics but this was just cringe-worthy throughout. If I wasn't able to read it in its entirety while my laundry was in I might not have picked it back up again for a second sitting.

You would do better to read something like Sex Criminals or Bitch Planet if you want to tap into the sexy side of Image, because this one was an uncomfortable race to the last page. If only I'd left that shrink wrap on.
