Heart Strings is not the finest from Miss Moreland. This book is more subdue and focus more on sex. Like many romance readers, sex sceses are good but I need more in depth of the story.
After all this is from Miss Moreland.

Miss Moreland usually writes a story that full with moral messages. I can relate to Lottie. Her whole life is lonely, depressing and sad. But at least she still have a good job. Miss Moreland also not explain the attraction between Logan and Lottie.
It just told, Logan fell a strong attraction toward Lottie on the subway.

Anyway.... moving on

Heartstrings surprised me, was not expecting this really swoony, romantic love story, and Logan was just amazing from page one. His confidence and belief in his ability to be who he was and not be intimidated gave the book a solid backbone. Lottie needed him more than she knew, and being with him enabled her to move on from a toxic relationship with her parents. Logan is the catalyst in this book as he helps Lottie discover who she wants to be and help her find the strength to do it.

Heartstrings hit so many right chords (yeah, I did that) with the story's pacing, the characters, the steam, and its low angst. Heartstrings is the perfect book to curl up with and just enjoy the story of Logan and Lottie, who are two of the sweetest characters I have read in a while. I am going to have to read more Melanie Moreland.

A sweet, somewhat sappy, musician heals a broken woman story. Charlotte (Lottie) works for her workaholic father at his investment firm. She hates her job, it’s sucking the life out of her. She takes the subway home every night, exhausted but needing to hear the musician that soothes her nerves.
He began another song - one of my favorites - and I relaxed back, letting my eyes shut as the notes drifted over me, low and sweet. When he began to sing, a tear slipped down my cheek at the richness of his voice. It felt as thought he were singing only to me.
Little does she know, he actually is. This story was like a warm blanket on a cold night. A low angst, low drama, insta-love, hallmark-esk feeling story. Logan was WAY too perfect but I let that go and enjoyed the story.
I knew right then, I was in love with Montgomery Logan. Every single side of him, I adored. And I wanted to keep him.
Yup, that book cover made us all want to keep those muscly forearms too Lottie. That guy doesn’t look 26, just saying.

Off topic from this story: If you ever have a chance to hear musicians in a subway, do it! There is NOTHING like that experience.

Melanie Moreland pulls at your Heart Strings with this contemporary romance that is full of love, loss, passion and all the feels.

Charlotte "Lottie" is trying to get through life one day at a time as grief eats away at her and no one seems to notice. Montgomery Logan notices Lottie one night in the subway and can see the pain in her eyes until he starts playing his music. After this, he makes it his goal to try and cheer her up with his music daily. As they move from strangers to friends to lovers, Logan renews Lottie's look on life.

Melanie Moreland sure has a way with words that pull you in, take you on an emotional ride and have you strumming a romantic tune on your Heart Strings.

Really enjoyed this one. Steamy with a good story and different plot from the many romances I've read in the past year. It's a familiar trope, but the details set it apart and I really enjoyed them. Not a new favorite...but definitely something I would read/listen to again. I listened to the audiobook and I definitely preferred the female narrator vs the male narrator on this one...but got used to him as the story went on.

Light hearted and low angst

FMC works in private equity, is stressed and hates her job. MMC is a musician and teacher and eventually gets signed as a song writer to a record label. Accidental pregnancy, external family drama.

This book. I have to get my thoughts together...it's book hangover inducing. This story is insta-love(ish), great characters, great external conflict, and wonderful growth within all the characters. One of my favorite things about it is the excellent communication between the characters. Logan is sweet and possessive. On the outside he seems like a genuine guy: sweet, caring...on the inside..he's the same but very alpha. This book tugged on my heart strings in more ways than one.

Beautiful story, Logan and Charlotte's story got to my heart. Their meeting was meant to be, they need each other, and yet they turn their lives upside down, they will give you a ride on a roller-coaster of emotions from start to end. I love Melanie Moreland's writing, it brings the story to life and you live every word she writes. Second chances are sometimes the best way for a relationship and this story proves it. You will read this story and will want more because it will just make you feel everything, this is one book you will re-read. Brilliant 5-star recommendation!

I found another go to author!

I picked this book up on a whim after reading another book from this author. I have to say, that last minute decision isn't something I regret.

This follows our heroine Lottie, a woman jaded with her unfulfilling career and strained relationship with her parents. Every day after work, she stops at the subway station to listen to Logan, a street performer with whom she is captivated with. Little does she know, Logan himself has been noticing her and is entranced by her right back. One particular and tiresome evening when Lottie falls asleep at the station marks the start of romance so sweet it can tug on one's heart strings.

This book offers a very low angst, low stakes insta love romance. It is full of sweet moments with a kick of spice that are easy to get lost into. I have to admit though, if you are looking for a book that will blow your mind plot-wise, I don't think this is perfect book to satisfy that. I personally think the main plot and selling point here is the overall sweet and cuddly aspect of the romance.

I'm definitely going to dig into more of Melanie Moreland's backlist after this. I'm excited to read more from this author for those days when I just need a feel-good story that is relatively easy to fly through!
