I liked Cloudstar's Journey the most, than Mistystar's Omen and lastly Hollyleaf's Story.
I don't think much of Hollyleaf, and I really did not like her novella, it was boring, I liked Fallen Leaf, or atleat found him interesting, and I wished we saw her realization to know that he was acually dead but we did not.
Mistystar's Omen was fine, interesting to see a bit into Riverclan even though it was suddle. Love to know she and Mothwing are good friends.
And lastly was Cloudstar's Journey the most interesting, it was knew and refreshing to see a bit into Skyclan's past.
And this is also the Novella I have most thought's on, or maybe one or two more interesting thoughts:
And that is how they remember Clear Sky, because yes they do remember the founders still. And that is something that is long forgotten when Firestar first joined Thunderclan.
But even in Cloudstar's life can we see that it has been some time since the founders died because they do not remember Clear Sky right.

On Chapter 2 page 213 do we meet Maplestar who was once Skyclans leader and she is going on on how great Skyclan is and how so much better they are than the rest and bla bla bla, the usual that the cats of their clans think. She said sometime of Skyclan being the heart of the forest while telling the story on how they were the first to set boundaries. And so far she is right, Cleat Sky was the first to set boundaries, but, and this is important, she talks like it went well, and this is obvious to us that she was not there because how it went is nothing to be proud off, so many cats died or got hurt and Clear Sky was cruel. And I understand why she thinks like that, a clan always whant to remember their past leaders as good cats and that is why she may have thought of that Clear Sky was on the right side and reasonably. While anyone who have read arc 5 Dawn of the Clans know that it was not true.
Also if you read page 215 can you see how arrogant Skyclan still are with beliving they are the best and strongest, they sure go in their founders paw steps, though most clans have this mentality, like I wrote before.

I only read the first two series of the Warriors series so I was a bit spoiled but I still enjoyed it. I especially liked Cloudstar's journey because it made me want to read the last series.

As per usual, I'll review each of the novellas separately.

Hollyleaf's Story: 5/5. This novella tells of everything that happened to Hollyleaf between the time she disappeared in the tunnels in Sunset and re-appeared in The Forgotten Warrior. I wish this was a longer book, because this novella has some of the best writing I've seen in the series to date. The characterization is just awesome. Hollyleaf is made to neither look like a hero nor a villain, and you get an inside look at her thoughts as she struggles with the choices she's made and the decision on whether or not to return to ThunderClan. She develops a close friendship with Fallen Leaves, and we see how much he helps her get back to her old self.

Mistystar's Omen: 5/5. I was never big on Mistystar as a character, but this was a really interesting book that takes on a tough topic that was never deeply explored in Warriors before: personal conflict arising because of religious differences. Mistystar has just become leader of RiverClan, and when medicine cat Mothwing accompanies her to receive her nine lives, Mistystar, a deep believer in StarClan, learns that her medicine cat has no faith whatsoever -- a trait that is typically the most important trait in a medicine cat. The story shows Mistystar first abandoning her friend for not sharing her faith, then coming to terms with the fact that Mothwing is a great healer without faith. There's some interesting dialogue in here about religion, if that's the kind of thing that interests you.

Cloudstar's Journey: 3/5. This is just a filler story to give us more detail on how SkyClan was driven from the forest. Cloudstar watches the beginning of their home's destruction, and he keeps telling himself and his Clanmates that they will never be driven out, even as the destruction gets worse and worse. They end up leaving, of course, making for a sorrowful ending as he is forced to leave his mate and young kits behind. I only wish that the novella could show their actual journey to their new home.

I wanted to like this book, I really did- especially because I liked the other novellas so far but this one … was just meh - the only one I've liked was Cloudstar's journey - and the journey isn't even there.

HOLLYLEAF'S STORY
I don't like Hollyleaf, I don't care about Hollyleaf- I wish that this book was about Fallen Leaves instead - he was such an interesting character that's mainly there in the background - though I did like the mini story about a fox- Hollyleaf saving a fox cub and said fox cub attacking her later because it forgot how she smelled and that she saved his life. It also gets slightly repetitive because it's mainly happening in one place- the tunnels - and there is a lot of just patrolling the tunnels and hunting - but since Hollyleaf was so unlikeable to me it ruined the story for me.

MISYSTAR'S OMEN
Man... I wish that anyone but Mistystar became a leader- the beginning was sombre and sad- Leopardstar dies, apologizes to Mistystar for killing her brother and saying that she wishes she was Mistystar's mom because she loved her like her own kit and is instantly forgiven even though she did some horrible things but okay- then we get to the story - Mistystar gets her nine lives, Mistystar sees that Mothwing is not in Star clan with her - Mistystar decides that since Mothwing is an atheist she shouldn't be a medicine cat because she needs to believe in Star clan to be a good healer…. despite being a competent medicine cat that has been healing her clanmates for moons at this point - but yes, the entire novella felt boring and dragging, Mistystar is unlikable, it takes her brother and an omen and her son to almost die before she finally gets to her senses and starts trusting her old friend again - and yes, she mentions over and over that Mothwing is her old friend since she was her mentor before she became a medicine cat- but she doesn't show that at all, I guess that the moral of the story is that just because someone close to you doesn't believe in same things you do you shouldn't question your faith but the main character is unlikable, the story gets repetitive and drags on when it's not needed and it was just … so boring and I wanted to scream at Mistystar for making so many dumb decisions in a row.

CLOUDSTAR'S JOURNEY
This one was the only one I liked out of the three. It's about Cloudstar and his clan, the leader of Sky clan when they were banished from the forest. We meet him and his clanmates living peacefully in the forest when the monsters and humans come and humans start destroying the forest in order to build houses- Sky clan is ran out of their territory when they ask for help at the gathering and everyone gets mad because they can't possibly spare the territory, a few medicine cats mildly protest but are ignored, then one mentions that there are four trees which must mean that there should only be four clans in the forest and besides, if Star clan wanted all five clans to live in the forest together they'd cover the moon with clouds, since they didn't do that they should totally banish Sky clan for reasons (I have no idea why Star clan didn't intervene there or why they allowed that to happen). There was also a part where Cloudstar has a dream where he meets previous leaders in Sky clan and they tell him that Sky clan is strong and they shall stay in the forest forever - and that only serves one purpose- to make Cloudstar more stubborn and try staying in his territory for longer than he should have. He had to leave his mate and small kits behind and he doesn't see them again until Sky clan is rebuilt many, many, many moons - years later when Firestar rebuilds it in Firestar's quest and he meets them in Star clan - I wish that his mate or at least kits followed him and met him at the gorge where they lived- that would've felt so much more satisfying- and the journey in the title isn't even there because the novella ends before they even start. Overall, best out of three but not the best out of all the novellas I've read so far.

Hollyleaf's story - 4 Stars
Reading the series by itself did give you a little bit of what happened to this warrior after she initially fled, but this filled in every remaining gap. She was such a broken soul when we first lost sight of her. By the time she came back, much of her character changed, and I wasn't sure how the cat who went into the tunnels became the one who came out. This story chronicles her changes: her life in the dark, befriending another cat (whom she never figures out is a ghost), looking at life a different way, trying to frickin' save a fox (her nutty moment, but telling), and her eventual decision that she couldn't stay away from Clan life. The inner struggles we finally get to see help shape who she is by the end of Omen of the Stars. Awesome.

Mistystar's Omen - 4 Stars
I really do enjoy stories from different Clan perspectives. We get to see it only a tiny bit throughout the regular series, since it's primarily through ThunderClan. Mistystar was a strong character without getting into her mind. Now that we get a chance... yay! She was just as powerful as I imagined, and her issue was something I'm sure every reader questioned during the regular-run of the story. Mothwing. I loved this little story. I thought it was quite emotional for its short length, and we can better understand the mind behind RiverClan during the dark rebellion of Omen of the Stars. Again, awesome.

CloudStar - honestly, didn't read it. Never felt that connected to SkyClan, but that may change once I get around to its own Super Edition. I'll get back to this one.

It was really nice to read about other Clans in this book. I think it's a pity that most Warrior books are written from Thunderclan cat's point of view.

The first story, about Hollyleaf, was really catching me. I like Fallen Leaves, but never cared about Hollyleaf, she is one of the characters I didn't take to. In a way it was okay to hear what happened to her after her disappearing.

The second story with Mistystar as main character was a lot better. It shows the trouble and worries Mistystar has, wanting to do the right thing for her Clan, but ending with her admitting she made a mistake.

Cloudstar's Journey, the last story, was one of the best to me. I always wanted to hear more about Skyclan and reading about the way they were driven from their home was a heartwrenching tale.

All in all, a nice addition to the Warrior series. I hope there will be more stories from other Clans.

I have so far read every last book in this series (except for one that I'm starting next lol)...and I have never had a book series that I have cherished so much. I've laughed, I've cried, I've felt every emotion possible while reading the books. I look forward to the days when I can share these books with my children!
