This book was an interesting take on 2 women who find themselves in the biggest predicaments in their lives, and how their lives intermingle to help each other through the hard times. I didn't particularly enjoy Eva's part of the story, but I did enjoy Claire's story. And the ending was well done.

This story was so well-paced and suspenseful, exactly what I'm looking for in a good thriller. The story is based on two female main characters desperately wanting to escape their current life situation, and they end up switching tickets at the airport to avoid their destination. However, one of flights ends up crashing and the background of both characters (jumping from past to present) slowly unravels. Some reviews say they were more interested in one character over the other, but I personally enjoyed learning about both perspectives and seeing how different these two people's lives were in comparison.

What can I say?
This book is compelling and easily one of my favorite thrillers of all times.
I finished this book in two sittings because it was so good that I couldn't put it down.
Clare Cook seems to have it all: a handsome and successful husband with an emerging political career, a beautiful home in Manhattan with a full-time staff ready to serve her, and a job getting prepared to become a potential senator's wife. But, in reality, she is a battered woman who is miserable and fearful of her husband's temper and controlling behavior. So, she's orchestrating her disappearance and the chance to a new life. However, things change last minute and she has to make a split-second decision at the airport when she meets Eva by chance. Eva is also trying to escape her own hell, and in a faithful decision, the two women switch plane tickets in search of a new life.
This story has everything: drama, mystery, suspense, and twists that kept me reading and guessing to the end. Claire's character goes through amazing development, and we learn so much about the details that led her to leave her husband. Eva is smart and clever, but some bad choices along the way have left her with no choice but to run away. In a final twist, the epilogue delivers a shocking revelation that I did not see coming. A solid read!

I really enjoyed this thriller. It was fast-paced and twisty. I loved that Eva's POV was always in the past and Claire's was always the present. I like that the mystery unraveled together from two separate women's POVs. To me, it is not a five star read because one or two plot points bugged me.
