Krylov is the only writer I've encountered who can overwrite in an efficient and tight manner. I absorb her prose with green eyes. Beyond her grasp of the craft, she exceeds at character psychology. This is a biting tale of a girl's internal struggle with her captivity, her abductor's compelling point of view, and a discovery of desire. A twisted ride overran with perversions, stomach-flinging terror, and surprisingly warm sensuality. I sank so deep into the mental complexity of the situation, I lost the ability to interpret my moral compass.

Twisted as hell, and so very well written. Dark erotica at its best, where the psychological themes leave you thinking while some of the scenes leave you panting. NOT for the faint-hearted.

Okay I am usually not one to post negative reviews and I will put both the good and the bad of this one.

For starters it was slow at the begining. I started off wondering what happened what is she running from who is she running from why is she running? Then we meet Vaughn and well we are left wondering what his deal is. It isn't till later about a quarter of the way in that we find out exactly what happened with her. I am not a big fan of that style I mean I started off confused as to exactly what was going on.

We find out what exactly happens with her and also what Vaughn's deal is. And then well I saw what happened next coming.

I will say that the whole concept of the story is awesome but I think that it could have been delivered better. I just honestly felt like this one drug on way longer than nesessary. I almost put it down because it was just soo much.

I am not a big fan of not finishing though so I pushed through it took me 4 days to finish. WAY too long! When I find myself skimming through pages because I just want to be done it usually means I am not a huge fan and they lost me.

But like I said, I did like the dark aspect and the consept.

This book would've been a four if it wasn't for the length of book. I gave up on pg 621 because I didnt see any need to read the rest.

The sex scenes were hot and I liked all the characters. Even Conrad, although I don't think I was supposed to like him. It was an all around fun book.

Suffice to say, this book is not for everyone. It's also incredibly long and I do agree with many of the reviews that the ending was not quite necessary. What made this book "dark" wasn't the graphic depictions of sex, but the psychological coercion and fear showcased through the entire book and the disturbingness of what Conrad was orchestrating. It wasn't all that believable and it didn't make a lot of sense, but I was falling deeper into the rabbit hole as I read. I cried multiple times because the author did such a good job of writing that I felt I could taste the emotions right off the page haha.

Abduction, by Varian Krylov, is basically a long and harrowing horror story about two characters forced to have sex with each other and then some, by a psychopath in a cabin in the woods. It was billed as BDSM/Erotica on the All About Romance site but frankly, when one character kidnaps, drugs, and threatens the other with guns and knives, I think we are pretty firmly over the BDSM line into outright rape and assault.

The characters also continuously engage in conversations and internal monologues about whether or not they are being raped/assaulted.

Frankly, this kind of narrative device is utter bullsh*t. You-the-author and we-the-reader are aware that the line between consensual sex and forced sex has been crossed. Having the characters espouse justifications based on whether or not someone achieved orgasm during a forced sexual encounter does not suddenly create consensuality in the act itself.

The power of Abduction, for good or bad, is that I read the whole thing. It is fairly well written. However, it is not a romance by any means.
