Moving on past my mini rant, the story immediately places the reader into the lowest of low classes - introducing Richards - a solid character rooted in his own beliefs and only wanting to help his family. King takes you on a whirlwind of a chase, leaving the reader flipping through the short chapters begging to see what happens next. The futuristic scene gives us a glimpse into the harrowing potential forecast of what may come to our society. Â And it all ends spectacularly. I would recommend this book for the plot alone.Â

This book is essentially âhuntedâ but more extreme. As always I love Stephen king, he always manages to keep me engrossed in the story and he is a magnificent story teller. I appreciate that this book was written in the 1980âs but there was just no need for the amount of racist remarks made - completely ruined the book for me as it didnât add any depth to the story line at all. I did love the twist at the very end though, I shouldnât have expected it to be predictable but I was lulled into a false sense of predictions and he did a full 360 on me. I also felt very unnerved about how it was written in 1983, but set in 2025 and referring to the past being 2020/2002/1997 - the world I am literally living in now - mind = blown
