I’m knocking off part of a star for the pacing - I disliked that Mac’s history was kept under wraps until 80% of the way in, needlessly. It wouldn’t have detracted from the story at all to reveal what she was running from earlier and, as a reader, would have lowered my anxiety during the read.
That said, Ward/Hollywood was the literal perfect hero, and his love story with Mac was beautifully done. It also had a pregnancy trope from the getgo and EVEN THOUGH I HATE THEM AS A RULE I absolutely did not hate it here. It was well done, tasteful, and emotionally satisfying found family HEA.

MCs aren’t always my thing. But! This one hit so many of my spots. Protective alpha, single mom, found family, to feed her is to love her, cinnamon roll hero who isn’t afraid to go there for the woman he loves. Morally grey but fighting for those who need it.

Mac & Ward❤️
I have read and enjoyed every Layla Frost book, but this is definitely one of my favorites! I loved Mac & Ward, and was excited to see Judge & O again. I hope there are more Mayhem books in the near future, I really need Glitch and Jury’s stories!

I love when a tough alpha biker is a total marshmallow for his woman. How Ward loved Mac and her baby made this a great read for me.
