I knew it had to happen. I couldn’t be in love with ALL the band members of Stage Dive. Someone had to take one for the team to be the weakest link in this why choose fantasy, and the weakest link is Ben. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not a bad guy, but I just didn’t connect with him and Lizzy like I did the other band members. That being said, their book was well written and I’ll definitely buy it so I have the whole series in paperback. Ben was just kind of that guy that didn’t want any responsibilities and just loved his partying lifestyle, and Lizzy was a little too immature for me. However, I did really like following the stories of the other band members from the previous books in this one, and I recommend the read if you liked the previous books in the series!

This will be my go to for when I'm in a slump. Every character in this series has different reasons why I love them. Mal may still be my favorite, but Jimmy, Ben and David are close seconds. Quick reads and oh so good!

I wanted to love this book. I couldn't connect with the main characters of this book. I loved catching up with everyone else. This book sets the stage for the Dive Bar spin off series. I wouldn't skip this book for all the extra you get.

I need to read everything this author has written. I have loved these books and the characters in them! Brooding men and tough women who put them in their place. Great spice and such fun easy reads! This is a must read series.

Ok. definitely weaker than the others. I felt like I got to really know the other 3 MMCs in the previous books, but Ben felt very surface/flat. Just a meh book 2.5 ⭐️

So, pregnancy uh. I was so surprised! That was a nice change in the series. And Lena and Jimmy are having a baby too! That's so adorable. Finally some new plot devices!!

We finally get to know a little bit more of Ben, other than his Lumberjack appearance. And... I get him. I know people like him, that their work or hobby is their passion and they never would imagine their lives being any different. But the romance seemed… meh. Rushed. This time we don’t get the same thing as the other books and that’s awesome, but this time there isn’t really a build up? Like they already met, and then we get how their relationship came together through a flashback. Basically they talk a lot on the phone and one night in vegas they fuck and theeeen they go out their merry way. That’s it. The only tension there is, it’s sexual and that’s really it. They don’t make each others better, they don’t help each other out with some problem about their past, they don’t fall in love by accident,.... they just.. sort of get together. That’s... boring. I would expect the story to go more deeply where the problem was… Ben’s worry about not giving his all to his music. To somehow leaving it behind because of falling in love. It barely scratched the surface.

So perks for the pregnancy surprise, the romance/relationship…. meh.

Also the delivery of the baby? Common now...  I'll Just quote it because.... Jfc is this bad

" “Argh!” My poor innocent vulva opened dreadfully, horribly, unnaturally wide. And then plop, the rest of my baby’s body slid out into the waiting arms of Dr. Peer. A moment later, a truly annoyed little cry filled the air, tiny baby fists flailing. "

So babies are born with a big plop and they're out. Great.

The end felt rushed again.... Tbh i read better fanfics than this

After reading this series, I think Lead and Play were my favourite ones. And then there’s Lick. And this one in last. Kinda disappointed, but still readable .

It's a big meh.

It was a good ending to a good series.

It got me a fair bit emotional toward the end, but I will admit the beginning had me not connecting as well. Really I didn't quite like Ben and I'm usually the type of person to love the hero and not like the heroine much, but I liked Lizzy (most of the time) and yeah Ben didn't really do much. Maybe because he was so not relationship material until like 60-70% in which felt crazy, in fact, it was near the end and he was saying he wasn't up for marriage and I was like uggggh what? Why say that I front of people and not have a conversation about it with your partner like ever? He was just as bad as Mal, who got on my nerves in this real bad. I hated everyone treating her like a child, especially Anne. Is it because 18 is an adult here and not 21? Probably not because people still call 21-25 year old mothers 'young mums'. It might also get to me more because I was around this age also, but people acted like she was 15 and pregnant for gods sake.

Also, hated Martha. She's shit. Really wished Ben told her to jog on. Was even more angry they invited her to the birth after the incident at dinner, and even more peeved that the drs didn't kick out a woman tormenting and rolling up a woman in labour. Raising someone's blood pressure is not a good way to finish a long birth. But sure.
