Forever in the Country is the fifth book in the Clementine Creek series by Alexandra Hale, featuring a riveting friends to lovers romance for Sorren and Rhea. he’s the ultimate protector who has spent his life taking care of others— his sister, his country, and now his town. When an an injury sends him home to Clementine Creek, Sorren is the one who needs saving, and Rhea is right there by his side in whatever capacity he needs every step of the way. The pull between them is strong, but he doesn’t think he deserves her yet. When she does something to force him to act, the passion explodes, but can he shake the ghosts of his past before they ruin his future?

Wow! This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I was blown away! I wish I would have had time to read all the other books first, but I didn’t have trouble enjoying it without them. I’m a sucker for wounded warrior/ military vets, so I loved Sorren right away. His emotions were very authentic and I loved watching him evolve throughout the story. Rhea was a beautiful and strong woman, and I was really proud of her for giving him that big nudge! Boy did she unleash the fire! They had some seriously spicy chemistry!!

I was waiting for this book and it just made me love sorren more!!!

Sorren is an ex military man and has his fair share of struggles going back to his everyday life with an injury.

Rhea is sorrens bestfriend from even before the military and she’s hanks sister. She has liked sorren for ages but never said anything.

I love them together they are so cute and seeing them take over barriers and admit to their feelings was so nice to see.

I want to thank Alexandra for allowing me an arc to this book I am so grateful and loved it

“…bottom line is we all have baggage and it’s up to the people we build a relationship with if they want to help us carry it or not. We can’t make that decision for them.”

After his discharge from the military Sorren returns to the only home he had known. Rhea had become his best friend and his safe place. When feelings start to come into play, Sorren is afraid he will lose her. So, he tries to keep them in the friend zone, but Rhea eventually forces his hand.

Forever in the Country is the fifth book in the Clementine Creek series by Alexandra Hale. This was a new-to-me author, and I was looking forward to reading this book. The book itself was great, easy to read, and had wonderful characters, but I suggest reading the series in order. I read it as a standalone and there were times when I got confused when the author referred to previous instances. I fell in love with the people and the small town of Clementine Creek! I loved the witty banter, the large family, and the drama. I have to go back and read the previous books because I am hooked on Clementine Creek!

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There is just something about visiting Clementine Creek that I absolutely LOVE. This one especially was heavy on the small town, warm fuzzy vibes. The found family, the friendships and bromances, the love.

We’ve all been waiting impatiently for Sorren and Rhea and they finally happened! Sorreah, as Otto would say, were the perfect blend for each other and I loved that Sorren tried so hard, even when he knew he was making mistakes.

The camaraderie was high in this book. The text chains were hilarious as usual and the book club bromances had me cackling. We got to see the women as sisters and see the love that family and town had for Sorren and Marlee made my heart squeeze. “Operation Darling” was about the sweetest thing I’ve read in such a long time!

Although this is the end of the Clem Creek couples, it didn’t really feel like the end of the series. I could keep reading about these characters and town for like 40 more books if I’m honest, I just love them so much.

If it truly is the end, I’m sad to say goodbye but happy to have been a part of this world. If it isn’t the end? I cannot wait to see what comes next!!

Sorren and Rhea have been friends for a lifetime. Rhea’s brother is married to Sorren’s sister. Rhea’s family has been Sorren and his sister’s found family for years. After being deployed and being injured, Sorren comes back home. But he is not ready for Rhea. But she is ready for him. And is tired of only being a convenience so she tries to move on. It sparks Sorren to figure things out.

Sorren really has to overcome a mental block to pursue Rhea. Rhea has always been there for Sorren but she is ready to be a first choice, not just a convenience. I liked Sorren being honest with Rhea about needing time and that he wanted her for a long time but was trying to be ready for her. However, I feel like a lot of their story was probably alluded to in previous books. I really loved the way Sorren let Rhea know he loved her without saying the word “love” yet. Man oh man is Sorren broody too

Worth the Wait!

We started with Marlee and Waylon, waiting patiently and enjoying the journey of each Thayer finding love, to finally come full circle with Sorren and Rhea, and it was totally a journey worth experiencing and a story worth waiting for! Although Hank and Isla are still my favorite, Sorren and Rhea are right there behind them!

This story was beautiful and deep and evocative. Not only does the reader get to experience a beautiful and heartfelt story, but reading it in context with Marlee and Waylon’s story as a background makes resonate all the deeper. The series truly comes full circle and shows the beautiful sibling bond and love between Sorren and Marlee.

Alexandra did this couple justice, and their story was perfectly timed! This return to Clementine Creek was once again a homecoming, with ties that bind, an unforgettable community and family that always shows up for each other.

Rhea and Sorren’s beautiful story is about healing, overcoming, love and bonds that span forever. Throw in some spice, fun and heart wrenching backstory and you’re guaranteed a need for some tissues!

This book is an absolute must read and a wonderful installment of a truly heartwarming series!
