Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker

Not bad! I found the “then” chapters to be less enjoyable than the “now” ones. Perhaps at the ripe old age of almost 26 I’m finally growing out of YA narrators. All in all, I liked the settings of the past and present stories. Piper was a good character. Kyle was sort of a tool as a teenager, but as an adult I liked him.

This book was... tedious.

I've heard great things about K.A. Tucker, and was excited to read Say You Still Love Me. But from the start, I just didn't like the heroine, Piper. She's spoiled, for one thing. For another, she describes herself as having a tiny waist and being "eye candy" for her office. As a teenager, she regularly feels sorry for girls who have freckles or who are moderately overweight- I mean seriously, every other word used to describe Christa was "thick" or "round". It's was so unbelievably off-putting.

The camp bits didn't read as real teenagers to me at all. Nothing they said to each other (besides a few hilariously cheesy comments from Kyle, thinking he's The Shit when he's actually just seventeen) felt true. I can't think of a single teenager I know, or knew - who would talk the way they did.

Beyond the rich bitch annoyances, I just found the romance flat and uninspiring. There was no real "burn" to it. The book was at least 50% longer than it needed to be. I was just bored. Unfortunately, this didn't do it for me at all.

“You want to jump again?”
A rush of adrenaline spikes through my body at just the suggestion. With him, a hundred times over, until my throat is hoarse from screaming and my legs wobble from the climb back up”

now i'll know what to say when someone asks me what was the last book that made me cry.

This was so sweet and warm. I loved the whole atmosphere of this, and the romance was adorable.

I love K. A. Tucker, I got hooked on her when I read the simple wild and I read all her other books after. I really liked this book but I have to agree with some of the other reviews that it was a little slow to start. The ending was worth the wait though and it was another winner from her.

“I needed to see you again,” he blurts out. He looks up at me, nothing but earnestness in his eyes. “I just . . . I wanted to see you again.”
