I have to remind myself that I am not the target audience of this series so my main critiques of how it is unrealistic and predictable may not be so valid. Is it starting to feel a bit far fetched that two kids continue to outsmart adults? Yes, but I suppose they did get outmaneuvered early in this book. Was the plot twist predictable? Yes but maybe not to a child reader. Still lots of fun and adventurous overall.

More twists than an episode of 24. Writer left me hanging at the ending. Can't wait to start the next one.

Every book amy and dan are like “we can’t trust anyone but each other and nellie” and then immediately give their trust to their family members who have literally tried to murder them before

Amy and Dan Cahill have been located once again, this time in the company of the notoriously unreliable Alistair Oh. Could they have been foolish enough to make an alliance?

I'll admit I mentally checked out midway through, but there's something about the main character falling for the evil nepo baby who she only met because he is her direct competitor in their family scavenger hunt that really gets you back into it. Amy, you are real dumb for that one. She almost died in a cave because she had a momentary crush on her evil distant cousin.

I have really enjoyed this series so far but I just could not get into this book

Plus the weird Amy / Ian stuff threw me off. I understand they are distant cousins, but at the end of the day this is a children’s book and I think it’s strange to write about two cousins falling for eachother. I wish they would have written a different character in that isn’t part of the family if they wanted a romantic element
