Was crying in the middle because it was so sad/ relatable. But was sobbing at the end because it was so sweet.

A sweet story and an easy read. Always glad for the representation of characters with disabilities. I also liked how the author included religious diversity without making any specific point about religion. It was just there as part of some characters lives.

Emmons did a great job with all the side characters. The only exception being Weston's dad who seemed to be there only to say encouraging things while explicitly calling Weston "son." The story isn't about the dad-son relationship so it didn't matter much, but it irked me nonetheless. We got so much interesting information about his mom and almost nothing about his dad. I kept forgetting that his mom was not a single mom.

There a few other very minor things that I would have changed but, overall, I recommend this book. It's a fun read and a straight-forward YA novel with lots of cute moments.

I think I just watched my heart crumble into pieces before being stitched back together with thread made of hope and sunlight. This is a gentle masterpiece.

This book is perfect if you loved How to Walk Away by Katherine Center or wished Me Before You by JoJo Moyes was a lot less depressing. It was bittersweet, hopeful, and cheesy in the very best way.

Tessa’s world used to be filled with sunlight and poetry. When a drunk driver hit their car, her grandmother came out bruised, but Tessa’s world had gone dark. With doctors telling her she might get her sight back after 100 days and her nightmares about the accident playing on repeat, she feels hopeless.

Her grandparents, wanting to help, placed an ad in the local newspaper for a typist. She feels happier when she writes, but she tells them she’s not ready. What she doesn’t know is that Weston Ludovico had already seen the ad. When he comes knocking at their door, her grandmother gives him a chance.

Tessa is not comfortable having a boy touch her laptop or tell her how to feel. Weston, as an amputee, knows how much it sucks to feel helpless. He knows more than anyone what Tessa is going through. With his optimism and stubbornness, who better to help Tessa see the bright side than him?

This is the definition of a grumpy/sunshine romance book. It’s a contemporary story that will give you hope and make you cry. It’s a story about a boy who didn’t let the world keep him down. A story about a girl who had to get used to her new normal and fight to get back on her feet. Young adults who are feeling lost, this book has the power to motivate you! Also, anyone who needs motivation. So everyone. Yeah, everyone should read this book! There are enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, and stubborn characters that would do anything to prove people wrong. I admire that and so much more.

The writing is captivating. It was so easy to see the difference in both POVs; there are two: Tessa’s and Weston’s. Their voices are unique and the writing illustrated that. This is one of my favourite books now. It might be a small book, one you could finish in one sitting, but its impact is ten times greater, and it lasts. And the audiobook… wow. This book is hooking and powerful. Exactly what I love.

There were a lot of scenes in this book that’ll always be stuck in my mind, but the one where Henry and Weston have a bonding moment on the stairs won’t stop repeating itself in my mind, and it made me tear up.

Reading the book impact my mood! When the characters are having a hard time, I feel down, and when they are happy I can’t help but feel it too. This book is powerful and brilliantly written. I’m definitely going to reread this book many times and I’ll never get bored doing it.

Abbie made me believe I could do anything, too. I stumbled upon her channel on YouTube in my moments of boredom and was trying to find a video that would motivate me to write. Hers didn’t bore me; it made me search for my notebook and write everything down. So, Abbie, thank you for making me believe. Thank you for writing such a heartwarming book.

Tessa and weston are so cute together, despite the rocky start. Throughout the story you just fall in love with them. They build each other up and make each other better in to many ways. It starts all about Tessa and how she struggles and weston helps her, but transitions into westons fears and insecurities and his whole backstory. Omg I LOVE how the author did his backstory. The writing in general is just phenomonal. The supporting cast and everything. Honestly my favorite character was probably westerns best friend. Overall I ten out of ten recommend it. It makes you feel so good. It's just a really nice comfort read for when you just want to feel happy, even tho the premise is kinda depressing.

I would’ve enjoyed this book more if I was 16 and exclusively read YA contemporary romance. But reading it now, it was definitely sort of cringey. I listened to this as an audiobook so thankfully I was doing others things too while I was reading. This book felt so slow and there was very little action in the middle. The main female character is really whiny and bothered me. The other was a bad example of “disability porn” meaning be mostly just served as a person with a disability to be an inspiration for the main female character. Yuck!!
But at the same time their romance is really cute and light and I want more WesTess content, so it’s really just a big bag of complicated feelings on this one for me.
