I enjoyed this one for the same reason as book 1. Strong characters and world building. I didn't enjoy these characters and plot as much as book 1 but I still highly enjoyed it!

I think it's better than the first book: http://blogendorff.ghost.io/book-review-a-closed-and-common-orbit/

The weakest of this series, imo, but nonetheless a good read.

A lovely little snack of a book, for me, as much about identity and how we see ourselves, as it was about the relationships we forge.

This stands also for me as one of the most interesting and emotional treatments of what AI could become in the future.

Ms Chambers worldbuilding and aliens are top-notch and I eagerly look forward to more.

I really liked this book, much more than the previous one in the series. The theme of humanity and personhood was very interesting, being explored from two different perspectives. It's also a story about an AI protagonist and it was developed in a very interesting way, exploring what bond an AI person would has with a body, and how they would enjoy the world around them.
I really enjoyed learning more about Pepper and her story, and reading what happens to Lovelace once she left the crew.
It was also a cosy story, where things are found, repaired or blossoming. A lovely read of two fascinating intertwined stories.
