this was not it. this book attempted to modernize the famous story of emma, but it turned out to be a flop for me.
the characters lacked depth, more than often i found them annoying and i did not see how anyone could relate to them in any way. the writing was poor, the cuts between the authors were clearly seen, the pace was off, the narrator inconsistent.
the meaning of emma’s story was absent. the romance was not believable and only felt like it was there because the characters found each other hot ( usually friends to lovers is my fav trope but this was poorly executed ).
jane austen would not have loved this.

This was a really cute HEA with some tension that built the whole book with a satisfying ending! Emma Woodhouse's wanderlust gets the best of her as she navigates grad school, romantic relationships, and her latest passion project: Nadine. All the while, her best friend, the older, hot boy next door is taunting her with his constant corrections.
This book won't stick with me for forever, but I will definitely recommend this one in the future for people who was a cute, easy read. I kept pulled from being able to finish this as fast as I wanted, and took off a day of work to finish it!

I’m not usually a big fan of modern retelling a of Austen works, but this was so successful. The characters and events were familiar, but the author made enough changes to keep it fresh and fun to read

A cute, modern take on Jane Austen's Emma.
This was a light, fun read and I couldn't help liking Emma and Knightley despite their flaws.
