Jock Romeo is the oh-so-hilarious and very sweet addition to the Jock Hard series. The hero, Roman, is awkward and adorable. Social interactions aren't really something he does a lot, preferring the quiet solitude of studying alone in his room. However, that all changes when he gets a second chance at a meet cute with the ambivert cheerleading heroine, Lilly.
What I loved about this book is how Roman and Lilly were both so different personality-wise but had a few similarities that really made the two of them perfect for each other. This made it easier for the lines of communication to be open between Roman and Lilly whenever drama arose, and subsequently, their character growth was more evident.
In addition to the development of Rome and Lilly's relationship, we also got to revisit one of my favourite couples (from Jock Reign, book 5). Jack and Eliza are still as fantastic as ever so I'm really glad we got to see more of their relationship from an outside perspective.
Infused within this fun story is Ney's signature humour. Sassy quips, sarcasm, and wild behaviour are to expected in every Ney book and once again, she doesn't disappoint! I laughed out loud many times and often had to remake my cup of tea because I was so distracted by the story that my tea went cold before I remembered it.
Overall, Jock Romeo is another fun, lighthearted new adult rom-com with a very light focus on sports (heroine is a cheerleader and MCs originally meet on Jock Row). I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who wants a funny, easy going college-based romance.

Sweet, sexy, with amazing characters, I was immediately sucked into the newest addition to Sara Ney’s Jock Hard Series, Jock Romeo. Once I started this book, I absolutely couldn’t put it down. I devoured it quickly and still wanted more.
The book starts with two college freshmen, Roman and Lilly, at a party on Jock Row that accidentally meet and seem to have a brief but instant connection. Years go by before they run into each other again, but Roman’s never forgotten Lilly. He’s the shy, reserved sort of nerdy type that’s a far cry from the almost gangly freshman he once was. She’s still the sweet and bubbly cheerleader that isn’t exactly fond of being a cheerleader and all the connotations that go along with the sport. They meet again by sheer luck, since Roman is now roommates with Lilly’s best friend and her boyfriend. Roman instantly recognizes Lilly, but it takes Lilly finding a bracelet she had given him on his dresser as she was glancing around for her to realize they had met before. From there, they have an immediate friendship that innocently turns into a fake relationship and then something more altogether.
I absolutely loved these two characters! Roman was so sweet but not without a backbone. He’s sort of the shy but smart guy throughout who’s turned into a hunkier version of himself by the time he and Lilly meet again. And Lilly? I can’t say enough good things about her character. She’s struggling with her current place in life and how she’s treated by her mother and her recent ex (and all the other exes that came before him), but she’s multilayered and still genuinely kind and friendly. What’s not to like? Her transformation from good girl that sort of does what’s expected of her to strong woman was so refreshing to see in a college-age character. I found myself rooting for her and loving how she approached life.
I feel like the theme for this book is finding yourself and, at the same time, finding that person in your life that makes you a better you. I really liked how both Roman and Lilly grew despite how life has been up until the point where they really become friends. They just work so well together as characters, and you get the sense that together they’re even stronger than they ever would’ve been without each other. The way they are from the very start felt sincere, and them together made me want to keep reading to find out how the book ends. Also, their story didn’t feel rushed, which I appreciated. I enjoyed getting so see how their relationship forms and goes from simply new friends to more with all of the cute moments and cringe-worthy ones, too.
This book is a fun and sweet read that will leave you in love with the main characters. Their endearing personalities and the way they play off each other make this a must read. Jock Romeo is a fantastic addition to the series!

Oh my goodness, our hero Roman is just adorable. Nerdy, awkward, but so sweet and polite and just an all-around fantastic guy. He was just the type of guy that cheerleader Lilly needed to meet- to show her how great a healthy adult relationship could be. I enjoyed their slow-burn story so much!

Love love this book so much ! I absolutely love when opposites attract one of my favorite things ever !! Roman abs Lilly are perfect together they just click together. I love how Roman was shy and cute and Lilly is all outgoing and fun , when he tried to fight the attraction at first I laughed out loud because no way would be be able to ignore a girl like Lilly and I was right !! There relationship grew from friends to more than friends and into a hot smexy explosion, highly recommend everyone read this book !

I loved Roman. Simple truth. He's a nerd, he knows it, and he's comfortable in his skin--but only within his comfort zone. He's truly a nice guy who has a great family. He's managed to spend a year at Cambridge and meet Ashley from Jock Royal which has led him to a roommate situation with Jack and Eliza.
We met Lilly in Jock Reign as she was Eliza's roommate. Lilly's a cheerleader but as we get to know her we find out that she doesn't enjoy it but has been forced into this role by her mother. That relationship is one we all wince about as we read descriptions of it in the story. Lilly's real passion? Crafting! Glitter!
They reconnect and awkwardly navigate the beginnings of their romance for us in a delightful slow burn that is so sweet and true to life you can't help but love it. Neither is particularly smooth, Lilly does have experience but she's never met anyone like Roman before and she doesn't want to scare him off. And she's never met someone who treats her like she's a person not an appendage of their glory or a trophy because she's a cheerleader. Roman is just a shy gentleman who can't believe someone as pretty as Lilly would want to have anything to do with him. But they figure it out and along the way we get delightful scenes with Roman's great aunt who is a hoot and Jack and Eliza who continue to be adorable. I loved this reversal of Sara's usual jock books in that Lilly is the "jock" and she's going for the nerd boy. Loved it.
