Linsey Hall writing is amazing. This series was so good. I love this retelling of Hades & Persephone. I love when I can feel what the characters are feeling when I’m reading the author writing, that’s how I know who my favorite authors are. Self sacrifice for love always brings tears to my eyes, or has me ugly crying. I want to read all of Ms. Hall books because I want to know more about Persephone friends, and I also hope there a story with Lucifer & the Apothecary because they interest me the most! There was one scene in this book I wish was longer or had more feeling to it, so much build up for it and I feel it fell a little flat but still liked it. Greats series over all.

Great Hades/Persephone retelling

I love how Linsey took the Hades/Persephone story we all know and love and made it her own, weaving it seamlessly into her Shadow Guild world. I’m sad this story only had three books, but can’t wait for the next series focused on other Shadow Guild members!

Good, but lacked tension

I enjoyed the final book, the pacing was well done, I just wished there had been more struggles. Everything the heroes did worked on the first try, they had the answer to every question almost as soon as it was posted. The emotions of failing were there for the characters, but because there was no struggle it, as a reader I did not feel it with them. Seraphia kept running out of energy, but then magically had enough energy to do whatever needed to be done next. Hades had both his wings broken but could still fly?

Every threat was just blasted out of the way like it was nothing. However the feelings development, especially for Hades, was extremely satisfying. It did feel a lot like he loved her way more though. He would give up anything and everything for her, but she would only love him conditionally, but it was okay because she was on the 'right' side.

I wish there had been more about all the side characters. Lindsey did a great job of making me care about them, all of them have pretty in depth backgrounds, but they all just kind of disappear at the end.

Well ..
This last volume continues the lineage of the 2nd volume.
I'm disapointed ..
The 1st volume really pleased me, the 2nd less and this 3rd disappointed me once again.

It is much too short, less than 200 pages to complete a series where a romance had not been installed, it is not enough.
Their first time was balanced in 10 lines, there is no time to be afraid for the characters, everything is settled quickly.

Persephone had no character development until the last lines.
She does not understand anything, does not see anything, does not try to understand Hades and his past ... she frustrated me .. I did not like this character.
Hades is a character who has evolved a lot, who has been very well written and that we love. Well done to the author for this evolution (except the end .. suddenly we have the right to a I love you while 2 pages before he did not know what it was ..)
Too short therefore too fast.

This series would have deserved to be longer to be able to surprise us. It remains a good read that I can recommend to have a good time but it is not striking.

Pretty very fluid writing, however.

I adore retellings of Persephone/Hades. Like I don't care who writes it, I will read it. I'm not sure why this particular storyline captures my attention so completely, but it does!

This was one of the better ones that I've read.

I really wanted to like this serie but I detested Seraphia so much that I couldn't. She was only nice to Hades when it was good for her, kept him close just in case she needs him. Her behavior with him was almost gaslighting that I couldn't like the books because of that.

Such a great series

Reimagined tale of Hades and Persephone, fitting ever so well in the world of the shadow guild...I read the books out of order, but really don't mind. Another beautiful world to fall in love with, and characters that live and breathe from the pages. Eagerly waiting for the next book!

This series is the VERY DEFINITION of a Slow Burn. In fact, each book brings it to a knew painful & stress inducing level. FRTC
