This is a nice supplementary collection to the Lunar Chronicles. While you don't need any of these to enjoy the fullness of the stories told in the Chronicles, these add some nice glimpses into how different relationships evolved and how and why certain characters ended up where they did when we first encountered them. Some of the best aspects actually focused on characters who weren't in the spotlight in the main series, but whose being and actions influenced the others, like Michelle Benoit. The final story in the collection is actually an epilogue, providing a fun way to revisit our beloved characters, which is a nice touch. There is also one story, The Little Android, that breaks completely free from being "clips" of the main story, and draws from The Little Mermaid (and the book summary up top isn't kidding when it says it drew from the Hans Christian Anderson version)! A quick, enjoyable read for fans of the series.

nice quick little back stories for all the main characters in the main book set for Lunar Chronicles... gives you a run down of everyone's start and how they ended up where they were when you meet them in the books and a nice little follow up story for after the books all end.

I enjoyed the backstories of many characters and this really makes me want to read Fairest to flesh out Levana's character more. Of course, the Scarlet/Wolf story at the end was the sweetest.

I know that when people love a series of books, oftentimes, they want more in that world. The question for the author then is to decide if they have something worthwhile more to say. Perhaps Meyer felt that she did, but it's hard to see how this collection is really worth the read.

There's very little that's new in here. "The Little Android" is really the only new material, with the final story filling in some things that happened after the end of Winter. These are things that wouldn't be at all difficult to guess, really, however. The rest of the stories simply expand on details we already knew from the books - how Michelle Benoit came to care for Scarlet and then Cinder, how Wolf came to be the alpha of his pack, how Cinder came to live with the Lins - these are things we didn't really need more detail on.

Of course, big fans of The Lunar Chronicles may be happy to have these things filled in for them, but, for me, there's a real lack of creativity here. Like I said "The Little Android" is the only expansion of the world. It would have been nice if Meyer had done more of that, instead of rehashing old ground.

It was a quick and easy read and for the most part didn't bore me, but at the same time I don't really feel it added much value to the series.

I think if you love the characters I can see you loving this, but for someone who left the series feeling lukewarm, it seemed like just a way for the author to make a bit more cash.
