This book blended the lives of very different women who formed friendships and stepped up to help each in times of need.

Very easy read, the overlapping of stories all formed in knitting club. The characters were very believable and well-rounded with great stories, even if a couple of the plots were tiny bit predictable. I wish there had been more involvement with the knitting angle, but provided a cozy feel of small town women helping each other in times of need!

I borrowed this ebook from the public library because I'd bought a 'Blossom Street' book at the book fair and found out it is part of a series.

The story is light reading and cute; a quick, easy read with a happy ending. The story centers around a yarn shop on Blossom Street, and 4 women who bond of knitting lessons. Lydia, who owns the shop and teaches the lessons, is a 2-time cancer survivor afraid of entering relationships because she fears a recurrance. Carol is a woman experiencing infertility issues who desparately wants a child and will go through anything to get one. Jacqueline is a member of the country club set, whose husband is the architect redeveloping Blossom Street, and who feels her son has just married beneath himself. Alix is a down an out resident of one of the about-to-be renovated apts on Blossom Street, who can't seem to catch a break. The book tells the story of how these women become friends, and of course, has a happy ending!

Pros:

I wasn’t sure about this book at first.  The main characters were so different and I’m not usually a fan of multiple points of view.  I think this book is a good exception to that as it is done exceptionally well and without overlapping and rehashing the same things over and over.  The different perspectives are four very different lives that are slowly influencing each other and it is amazing to see how they help each other grow into some of their hidden potential.

Cons:

This is a product of the early 2000s so some things in it are a bit cringy.  Specifically the attitude about weight, food and health.  For people who have struggled with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, food addiction and the like it would be important not to go in blind as there is a strong potential for triggers.  Likewise people who have struggled with infertility could find the story both hard and healing.

What a fabulous read and so believable. Wasn't one of those books where everything is oh so wonderful, although at one point everything was so bad i was depressed!
Loved all the characters, so diverse and yet they worked together.
Loved the endings and how they told you what was happening in the future.
I'm so pleased there are another 3 books in this story, can't wait to read them!
