“Irish” is a small town romantic suspense novel by Brittanee Nicole, and I thought it was an absolutely amazing read. Frank and Ellie’s relationship had so much depth, and I loved that Frank made it a point to get to know and earn the trust of Ellie’s kids, Lorenzo and Leo. He was kindhearted and sweet, but also gave off alphahole vibes at times, and I also thought that Frank would do anything to protect the people he cared about, even if it wasn’t exactly the most moral option. As for Ellie, I thought that she deserved happiness, safety, and peace after all the horrors she had been through, and I was so glad she found that with Frank. She was such a good mom to her kids, and she always tried to protect her sister Alesia. This book had so many twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting, and I thought it was very well-written. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves the second chance and/or single mom trope, or if you’re a fan of romantic suspense novels!

This story was a bit challenging to start. It seemed a bit slow at first but quickly gained traction about midway. The MMC was by far the best of the story. He was a strong character with kindness, love, and humor. The FMC was a very damaged woman that had to do horrible things to survive but reunion with MMC heals her. This had a good amount of spice. The plot had some twists I did not see coming which was a pleasant surprise. And the HEA couldn’t have been better for them.

“I want to hold my girl, run my fingers along her body, and talk. I want to catch up on the years I missed. Fight sleep with me, baby. Don’t make me beg.”

I enjoyed this one! Frank and Ellie were best friends growing up, but they never should've been. She was claimed by the Italian Mafia and he was the son of Irish Mob. After an incident, he gets sent away by his grandfather and she loses not only her best friend, but the one who could protect her. This sets into motion her fate of being married off into the Italian Mafia. Irish never wanted in the family business, but finds himself trapped because of his brother's decisions and a female serial killer attacking both families. After a couple decades he and Ellie finally come face to face. Questions are answered, twists and betrayals come about, bur their love has always surpassed their childhood. I really liked how Frank took care of her and was patient after all the trauma she went through. And the relationship he had with her boys was so sweet.

Okay when I first got this book I didn’t realize that Frank, was THE Frank from Whiskey Lies and Loving Whiskey! I think that made me eat this story up even more! I floved this! Every single second!

This book follows Irish (Frank) and Ellie. They grew up together, found peace in each other’s presence. But Ellie’s family didn’t like that she was so close with the Irish boy. They lost touch and 30 years later… well they found each other again. They also found the piece of their lives in each other that had been missing.

This book had me feeling so many emotions. The protectiveness of not only Irish but also Ellie was amazing. They experienced so much hardship over the past 30 years and deserved to find peace with each other. They are meant to be. The relationship Irish has with her boys? My heart was gone!

“You and the boys? You’re mine.”
