I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first book, I must admit. There’s a lot more action, and you can definitely see where some of the plotline start to come together. Although at times I’m a little sceptical about George RR Martin’s writing, with the references to paedophilia and incest, I can’t argue with the fact that he is a great fantasy writer.

I’m a little sad that there wasn’t any chapters from Robb’s point of view, but I’m assuming the third book will make up for this (and we all know what happens to Robb

Arya is my hero!

I enjoyed this book more than the first one. Full of action and surprises. Jon and Sansa frustrate me, Cersei and Joffrey are wicked and Arya is a warrior.

Feels like a bridge between got and whats to come, but still, five fucking stars. Especially for Tyrion, the superstar he is.

Improves on the complexities of the first book. There is so much going on yet Martin expertly handles the ins and outs of the conflicts happening across westeros with venomous precision and detail. Most of the characters continue to be despicable and downright horrific human beings and you're only options to morally root for are the Stark children. (I used to like Tyrion but he was a bit of a creep in this book). I'm looking forward to the next book.
