This stoy was so deep, I loved it.

Aurora isn’t confident with herself, add to that a shitty past that’s she’s not willing to share with anyone and that she doesn’t trust people that easily. So when she wants to start all over, she moved in Lakeshore U and she'll have to live with her brother and his hockey’s teammates. That include being close to Noah, a playboy who doesn’t want to settle down, but as soon as Aurora arrive you’ll sense the tension between these two.

I found myself through Aurora’s story, people can be so mean sometime. I loved the way the author write about Aurora and her feeling toward her brother and the others people as well. I also loved how Noah is so confident with himself but completly off guard toward Aurora sometimes. Aurora and Noah share really something special and It was really enjoyable and beautiful.

The only thing I would say is that I was a bit sad, because I wanted to read more about hockey games but that doesn’t mean I didn’t love the story, not at all.

I loved this story and I can’t wait to read the others books of this series, cause this sounds so promising.

This is hands down one of my favourite L A Cotton books, and I hate to admit it, but it may have just taken over from my Rixon Raiders love. Lakeshore U is my new favourite obsession and Noah Holden is a dreamboat. And Aurora she’s a curvy girl who is a little on the apprehensive side when it come to relationships.

Noah is the room mate of Rory’s hockey playing brother. Rory hated hockey and is sworn off hickey guys. Enter Noah Holden, panty melting, heart thumping dreamboat that is definitely a book boyfriend you’ll fall for!!

There’s a good amount of emotion in this book, and sensitive topics that are handled with absolute care as always with L A Cotton’s books and it’s such an enjoyable read!

The side characters are fun, I can’t wait to read Connor’s book, which I believe is the prequel to this one called Bite The Ice.

I’ve been waiting for a college series to sink my teeth into since I read the Off Campus/Briar U (Elle Kennedy) series but nothing has hit the spot quite right, until Lakeshore. It’s safe to say you’ll be hooked on the Lakeshore guys!! I know I am!!

I have been waiting for Noah and Aurora‘s story since Lianne teased us with it - RELENTLESSLY I might addamd we finally got it.

Break The Ice is a wonderfull story. It definitely has some emotional aspects especialy surrounding our main heroine Rory. Noah made me swoon soo hard, even though he was a bit of a dick at first.

I loved Noah and Rory together. They fit so well and are made for eachother. The bond between Noah and Austin was great to see. I liked seeing some conflict between Rory and Austin. Its a real sibling dynamic that I loved to witness.

Lianne is an amazing writer and I just love how she adds loads of real life topics into her books and makes us feel like these are real people.

Things you can expect to find:
—Hockey romance
—Brother’s best friend
—Found Family
—Reformed player
—Mental health awareness
—Curvy FMC

TW: Child abuse—emotional and physical—mentioned, eating disorders discussed

Aurora is a painfully relatable character for me. Like to the point where I teared up over her a few times. If you’ve struggled with an ED her story is like a baseball bat to the stomach with the authenticity it gives. I just wanted to sit with her and tell her it gets better, that there are awful days still, but the good outweighs the bad. I feel like LA Cotton did a really beautiful job describing the mental war that I know I still battle.

Noah is honestly such a complex guy. I probably wanted to stränglë him and hug him the same amount of times. He was lowkey a cinnamon roll that had no idea he was a cinnamon roll until he met Aurora. Watching him flounder and figure out falling in love was honestly one of my favorite things I’ve read this month.

These two coming together and figuring it out was perfection and I can’t wait to get peaks of them through the other’s stories!

we love a hockey college romance book!

okay so this is my first book by L.A. Cotton and it was so good! I did this one on audio and it made me so happy that teddy was one of the narrators. he's one of my all time favorite. i really enjoyed this story of noah and aurora. i love a good opposties attract, and especially when they are college aged. you can really go many different directions and this one hit the spot for me. i got an ALC of this and i loved being able to hear the characters. i feel like there is a different experience when listening to it. i loved how romanctic noah was. it really was a nice surprise considering he is such a playboy. i loved how they started out as housemates and then rory’s brother asked him to watch out for her. rory was such a relatable character and it was easy to fall in love with her. they shared a lot of little moments that lead to them finding love. i loved seeing the character growth and i really enjoyed seeing them navigate their own issues and helping each other by supporting one another. this was a cute and fun story to listen to! i definitely recommend if you like hockey and college aged romance!

I really Enjoyed this one

Okay so my biggest thing is I feel like more on the page scenes between Austin and Rory would have been great because her relationship with her brother is a big part of her growth story. Again I have similar sentiments with both of their parents. The mental traumas are such a big part of their identities I'd have liked less summary with tying up those wounds and more real time scenes.

Additionally I have a serious issue with Connor and Ella and how their atrocious behavior was dismissed as okay due to their intentions. It read to me a bit like saying idk manslaughter is okay because you didn't go into it intending to kill someone. That's probably a bad example but doing shitty things for the supposed right reasons doesn't make them less shitty. Okay yeah actually that part really bugged me, a lot. That shouldn't have been a quick to forgive moment it should have been one of those it takes a long time to trust again and seriously reevaluate the friendship moments. It makes them both read like doormats and undermines all of their character growth to view themselves as worthy to just shrug their friends' behavior off as well meaning. Honestly this part upset me enough I dropped a start because of it.

But I really enjoyed the story and the characters, the way everyone is so beautifully broken. I loved the way they're unique, with unexpected trauma and no clichéd description. Although I will stay it struck me as odd that more physical description was given for secondary characters than main ones. It's an interesting story that I'd definitely recommend.

This book was amazing, I finished it in a day!

I love how L.A. Cotton writes sports romance! She definitely outdid herself with this one.

I love all things hockey romance so I was all over this one. And let me tell you Noah and Aurora did not disappoint.
I saw a lot of myself in Aurora. So I felt everything she was going through, it CRUSHED me in some parts. Like totally gutted me and made me cry from the pain she was going through. So to say that I loved her is understatement.

Noah took a minute to warm up to him. He had me worried there in the beginning for awhile. But then I absolutely loved him!! Gosh he was so swoony with Aurora and how he was trying to make her realize her self worth

So thankful to forever and always PR for the audio ARC✨
I loved Teddy Hamilton of course! The Dual narration was so cool to listen too.
The story was a best friend’s brother/roommate romance with a curvy heroine. TW for disordered eating. The only thing I didn’t love was that the heroine’s issues with food weren’t addressed in the end. I would’ve liked for her to seek treatment. Overall a great hockey/ college romance!

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
disordered eating and (historical) physical abuse

I don’t like harping too much about what I didn’t like in reviews. But unfortunately, there wasn’t much that I did like about this one. By 30% I should have found at least something to enjoy about the main characters, but I just couldn’t get attached to them. I instantly disliked Noah. He was rude, inconsiderate, entirely too cocky. Wore that “playboy” label with too much pride. Also participated in “locker room talk”. He decided to be a decent human being just because he didn’t like other people talking crap about the girl he was infatuated with. Because I have no idea what it’s like to experience the things Rory has been through, I can’t and won’t comment on the way she’s dealing with it. But I will say this: as a reader, it felt like a mind game. Like we weren’t meant to feel bad for her, and I didn’t like that. She mentioned all that therapy, and all those doctors, but the more we spent time with her, the less I believed that. And I didn't like that, not one bit. Noah beats himself up because he made her doubt him, second guess his motives. But that’s not true. That was her own doing. And that killed me. He was truly wanting to change, and Rory was taking out her insecurities on him. I really should have DNF’ed this back at 30/40%. But I REALLY did want them to figure their stuff out. But it was too much for me. I did officially tap out at 60%. After not fully enjoying Ice Burn, I wanted to give the series another try, but this one just isn’t for me. While I enjoyed the writing, and did find the storyline interesting, these characters just aren’t for me.

I do want to point out that the way the author approached these very real topics was beautifully done. It was thoughtful, inclusive, and felt like a safe space. It just isn’t my space to be in.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “Not Jesus, but I am going to make you sing my praises.”
• “I want you. Anyway I can get you.”
• “Did you dream of me? Because I sure as f!ck dreamed of you.”
• “I love those little sounds you make.”
