This was such a fantastic book. I loved the slow way that this built up and that they didn't just immediately jump into bed (although that would have been ok too). It's nice to have a romance book that feels realistic. I would highly recommend this to any fan of romance books.

I am SO hooked on the Benedict sisters!!! This story is more than a story about how Calder and Adam meet and fall in love, which, of course, they do. And that part of the story is full of fun, excitement, anticipation....all of the things that make a perfect love story. But this book is also a story about four sisters who have only ever had each other to depend on. They love each other fiercely and are strong for each other. They certainly couldn't depend on their self absorbed but lovable mother who is determined to never grow old and too wrapped up in her own little world to realize that her daughters may need a mothers advice and love. Thank goodness they have the sweet and motherly Mrs. Finch for that. I could go on and on about this book, but I'm sure I'd give too much away, and I wouldn't want to be responsible for ruining such an experience for someone else. I absolutely cannot wait to read more about this amazing group of sisters!!

One Way or Another is the first book in The Sisters Quartet. Calder Benedict is a smart and successful woman. Born into a wealthy lifestyle, she is everything that Adam isn’t.

Adam did not come from wealth and had to work hard for every success. When he first meets Calder, Adam assumes she is just another rich socialite. Little does he know, she is so much more than that.

This is a fun contemporary romance. The romance between Calder and Adam is fabulous, and their chemistry is palpable from their very first meeting.

The characters are well-developed, and the minor characters are just as interesting as Calder and Adam. The relationship between the sisters is my favorite part of the book. Calder, Bryce, Aldi, and Destry complement one another so well and stand united on all fronts. I love their bond and their unwavering love and support for each other.

I love the Benedict sisters and can't wait to follow more of their stories. This is a great start to a captivating contemporary romance series! For my full review:

When I first read the book description of ‘One Way or Another’ I got super excited about this book. I’m an only child and have always loved stories about siblings and especially sisters. So when I got approved to read this book I couldn’t be more excited. It took me a little while to get to this read though. But better later than never.

In ‘One Way or Another’ we meet Calder Benedict. Calder is one of the Benedict sisters. The Benedict sisters come from a lot of money, but they all work hard too and aren’t spoiled or anything. Calder works hard for her charity and is very successful. But the thing Calder isn’t successful in is finding a nice man. But when Calder meets Adam Stone things finally seem to look up for her. Adam is hardworking and doesn’t seem to be interested in Calder’s money at all.

From the moment I started reading this book I wanted to keep on reading. I was just so curious what would happen next. And this was definitely something due to the writing because this book was really not for me. For starters the characters just didn’t really spark my interest. The Benedict sisters where four sisters, one twin. And they all have different fathers. Yes, four different fathers even with the twins. Well.. I know this can happen, there’s a very small change of this happening though and this was just a little to much.

The romance between Calder and Adam was just something I couldn’t feel. I didn’t feel their chemistry. And for someone who has trouble trusting people, it seemed to me Calder trusted Adam very fast. I just didn’t really believed there romance, and I really wished I did. I just missed that butterflies in my tummy feeling a good romance novel makes me feel.

What I also didn’t really get was that book cover. It just doesn’t seem to fit this book if you ask me. The Benedict sisters are rich New York woman, and Adam supposedly only wears very nice clothes. That cover makes me think of a sweet country read, the opposite of what this book was really.

Like I said earlier, the writing in this book is good because it still made me want to keep on reading. I just wanted to know what was going to happen. But this book wasn’t for me.

Did not finish.

I found this book really hard to read, and honestly, I’m happy that it was free on my kindle unlimited membership and that membership was on a free trail.

Don’t get me wrong, Mary can write inner monologue beautifully, I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of the inner monologue, however, the conversation between characters threatened to put me to sleep- it was boring, forced and super lacklustre- without reading any of the authors other books, I can’t comment if it’s her writing style or just the characters.

I love a good slow burn relationship, but that wick was just burning too slowly for me.

I found the characters unrelatable and unrealistic.

Will I read any of Mary’s other works? Unsure.
