As with the rest of the books in the series, I'm a bit torn over my opinion of this one. It had some great qualities, but at times I had to push myself to keep reading.

The conclusion was satisfying and tied up all the loose ends. It also capitalized on my favourite element of this series: the relationship between mortals, immortals and gods.

Unfortunately (especially in the middle), I found my interest in some of the characters we were following dwindling. Similarly, I was annoyed by the reliance on an ancient scroll to deliver information that had been clearly indicated throughout the story, and was easy enough to guess. With the wisdom and experience of multiple immortals, some thousands of years old, there was surely a more organic way for the characters to figure out/confirm the information contained in the scroll. The time spent retrieving the scroll formed some of my least favourite parts of the story (even though I liked the character seeking the scroll), so the presence of the object in the story was doubly aggravating.

In the end, I think the good in the series far outweighs the bad - it was definitely worth reading.

A good conclusion to the series, tho the end left some empty questions, But I guess the books never were about Ithania itself only Auraya journey.

CW: Onscene rape threat and degradation. offscene rape. Not too dark/detailed imo and the offender gets punished at the end.

This had an epic conclusion, I was not ready for that! and i'm gutted that there isnt more to read, I almost want to reread the series immediately.

I could not put this book down,I love the characters, I love the reveal.

Spoiler Big time spoilers.

How dense are the immortals tho? It took right up to the end of the series to figure out its the same gods lol. I caught on to that almost immediately when introduced to the other gods names/roles

I like that Chaia had a redemption arc. Huan so fearful of being destroyed brought about their destruction by pushing Auraya so, if she had not, likely Auraya would have remained loyal.
