Jamie is still an Energiser Bunny, non stop action and a heart of gold.
John is still the solid tower of strength for both.
David is still fightng his demons and winnng most of the time.

Once again, David's struggles are the main thrust of the story, with John and Jamie providing his support at what can always be a trying time of year. And as a reader you do get drawn into wanting it all to go right for him.

Loved this short-story. Hope we get another chance to see John, David and Jamie.

There is just something about this world, these characters, that has grabbed my heart and won't let go. This is such an understated and gentle look at John, David and Jamie as they prepare for this first Christmas spent together. Wonderful!

I read this right after the previous book, so it all sort of blurred into one. I enjoy holiday stories, and this one matched tone with the first.

This was a nice follow up to [b:A Note in the Margin|6348864|A Note in the Margin (A Note in the Margin, #1)|Isabelle Rowan|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1322711895s/6348864.jpg|6535392] but it was a little short. This occurred almost a year later than that book but David was still so uncomfortable with John and with everyone around him. I do get that he would need time to come around but it just seemed like everyone still wants to tiptoe around him and it got a little annoying.

I wish there was a separate story about Jamie. He's a great character.

This book was a visit with John, David and their friend Jamie a year after we left them starting new lives.
John and David are still together and in love and Jamie is still trying to find it
It is twelve days before Christmas and David's old clouds come to darken his life. He is in a good place, but sometimes darkness comes despite all the good and bright things.
John is patient and loving and gives David the space to come back to him. I absolutely loved the first book in this series Notes in the Margin, largely for how it dealt with mental illness and how it affects people and their families. This was there this time as well.
This was a lot more sedate and more like a snapshot of where these two men are. In love and finding ways to be good to each other.
Definitely worth reading of you've read #1.
