Cullen fucking Ayers. This man is hot as hell and even though you can 100% hate him for how he treats Everly, I fell for him more and more. He is trauma wrapped up in a man that wants to hate the person who put him father in jail. The internal struggle he goes through. Uhh we love him.
Everly West is a former journalist turned college professor and crosses that line with Cullen. Af first she fights his intentions and then she falls… hard.

Just wanted to do a re-read of this book so that I can read Fire and Ash by Sara Cate, one of my all time favourites. If you haven't read any book by her, then it is a sign to do so right now, her books make you

If you follow my page on Instagram you know that I love age gap with an older man. I am addicted to it. What I wasn't expecting was to be OBSESSED with an older woman as much as I was in this book, I've read them before and wasn't a huge fan but leave it to the queen Sara Cate to change my mind! This book was so good and SO HOT!

Everly is an investigative journalist turned college professor. 8 years prior she had the biggest case of her career break, sending a wealthy evil man to prison. Leaving his family broken.

Cullen, 18 and a new college student, is there on scholarship. When he ends up in the class of the woman that destroyed his family, so he vows to destroy her.

HOLY SHIT the tension and sparks between these two....

Age Gap, Bully, Forbidden, Enemies to Lovers, this book had them all. Sara never ceases to amaze me with the books she writes. I cannot wait to see what is next!

This was an enjoyable read. It is a student-teacher romance between Everly West, a journalism professor at Florence University, and Cullen Ayers, a student who wants revenge on Everly. The story was interesting and exciting. I really liked how the suspense was incorporated into the story. I really thought the characters were great. Every West is a 32-year-old journalism professor at Florence University. She had a breakthrough when she reported about Cullen’s father 8 years prior to this story. She is inquisitive, smart and emotional at times. Cullen Ayers is an 18-year-old college student who needs a creative writing credit in order to keep his scholarship. He wants to make Everly suffer the way that he suffered at first, but then genuinely falls in love with her. I thought their romance was sweet, even though it was forbidden. The ending was sweet, but it could have been longer. I can't wait to read more books by Sara Cate. Overall, a great read.

This is a gripping and intense romance that will captivate readers who enjoy dark, emotional, and complex stories about enemies-to-lovers relationships, age gaps, and bully romances, with a focus on themes of redemption and the power of love to overcome even the most troubled pasts.

This one starts off with a flashback about the case that got Cullen’s dad put in prison. It lays the foundation for the whole book. The next couple chapters after that are Everly starting her new professor position. Little does she know that the son of the man she sent to prison is in her class.

Things are pretty intense with Cullen in the first few chapters that I was honestly worried I wasn’t going to like this book. He has intense anger issues and blames Everly for how his life turned out. As the book goes on his feelings for her become mixed.. I then had conflicting feelings about his character.

It’s an intense battle to get through to someone who holds so much anger and hatred but this was written so perfectly. The surprises at the end were unexpected as well but worked perfectly for this.
