I loved this book, not as much as I loved the first one but I definitely read through this book as quickly as possible. I was only disappointed at the ending of this novel as the author was taking a path that I didn't want to them to take. As much as I have loved both this novel and the first one I do find Gray's writing sometimes predictable.

This is by far one of the better second books of a trilogy I've read in a long time. It doesn't feel like a book just holding over the plot until the finale of the third book--the plot was meaningful and substantial. My complaints are similar to the first book in that the beginning is way too choppy, and even though I started listening to this book immediately after finishing the first, I was still confused at the beginning. That should not happen, especially when you just finished the first!

Though I was very content with the dimensional travel (as in the first), I had several questions come up in my head regarding the whole method of jumping dimensions that I didn't think of in the first book, which made the whole argument slightly less convincing, but still one of the better ones I've seen.

I'm usually very slow at picking up surprises in books and TV shows and I can never figure out the twist until right before it happens, but I pretty much guessed the end of the book about halfway through the story. The hints are almost too obvious. However, because I can't think of a way to fix that, I won't complain too much. I'd rather have too obvious hints than no hints at all (then the story just isn't believable). But balance is perfection on these matters.

Would recommend, particularly to those who enjoyed the first one.

I read book one forever ago and remembered being very excited to read this one but I’m a little disappointed. From page one it felt off. Marguerite was very repetitive, she just constantly repeats this again and again to the point where I’m rolling my eyes thinking yes I get it. I also find myself annoyed with the destiny, true love, “my actions have no consequences” vibe. However, by the middle the book I was more drawn in and I felt like this were picking up. By the very end I appreciate that Marguerite learned a lesson and wants to do better. And those last two pages have me really considering reading book three.

I must save Paul Markov

This book was such a disappointment. The book is like 20% conspiracy 110% love triangle. (and so the reason of me giving it 1 star)

I just wished the main character would make a final decision once and or all and stop doubting herself. It's really boring reading over and over again "oh I must be destined with this person we always find each other but I also meet the other guy so maybe there's a connection there too"

I mean, it's interesting to see different dimensions and all it's differences, but like... does she has to doubt herself, her decision, her feelings every time she goes to a new one? Our choices define us. If a dimension is created each time we go to a different path, then that person isn't exactly the same as us. It's a different person. So why question if the actions of that person means something in you? Like, different circumstances, different way of thinking. Different thinking + different experiences -> different person.

This book is still interesting and the idea is as appealing as the first book, but the way the story is delivered and told is just awful. I hate the uncertainty of the main character in the love department. The book even ends on the cliche of the guy leaving the girl because he hurts her. It's just so dumb.

Where the book should dig more, it doesn't. It would be way more interesting to know and see the grief, the hurt, of some of the dimensions. The impact of the choices she has made when in other dimensions..

The book does have some interesting and kind of crazy stuff that happens tho.

When you fear for your life, you're overcome by this ghastly clarity. You calculate your odds every instant. You invent options and see possibilities you wouldn't have considered at any other time. You realize as never before that your life is the only thing that is absolutely, truly yours. There is strenght within us that we can't even comprehend until it's called upon. We are, at out core, built to survive.

I'm just sad really because I expected something so much better. It rarely happens that the second book of a trilogy is worse than the first. I don't even know if I'm reading the third one.

Just as exciting as the first installment. Bonus points for adding moral complexity and nuance. And that cliffhanger ending...!

I picked up Ten Thousand Skies Above You straight after I finished writing my review for the first one in the series. And I must say, I loved how the author jumps straight into the story, setting it all up for us readers to be in the know in the matter of a few pages of what exactly is now going on in this crazy dimension that Marguerite happens to have gotten herself into. I'm so thankful that it wasn't one of those novels that you can practically skip the first 10+ pages because it's just doing a massive recap of the previous book without actually moving forward with the plot. So A+ for the Claudia!
I must say I don't think I enjoyed this one as much as the first one, but I think that was more a fault of my own than of the story. I didn't have the time that I wanted to be able to sit down and read junks of this at a time, instead I was left with only being able to read a chapter here or there, which was disappointing. Life, why have you got to be so demanding all the time?
The only thing that I didn't fully enjoy in this book, is the fact that Paul was hardly in it (I know it was the point of the plot but still), but then that Theo and Marguerite's relationship didn't seem to progress all that much. I was expecting it to, and hoping for it to, because I could still really see those two possibly ending up together? Either way though, I don't really mind at this point who she is with.
The book had so many plot twists towards the end that I was not expecting and had me on the edge of my seat, and I sped through the last 100 pages or so dying to find out what was going to happen.
And that ending?! Oh my goodness. That, I did not see happening, and it really makes me wonder how the last book in the series is going to play out, but I can tell you, I'm excited for it.
This series is exactly what I've been in the mood for and it's making me enjoy reading once again. Now to go tear open the next one and get this series finished.

I really enjoyed this book and the whole conflicted feelings it had. How some character development took place and answers about the intentions of some people. All in all, it was a really good book. when I got to the ending I was like where is the next book. I didn't see that coming!
