While I thought this book was entirely too long and dragged on. I did enjoy the overall story. BJ and Magnolia annoyed me for 3/4 of this book but I’m glad at how it ended. I found myself rooting for Magnolia and Julian multiple times because of the BJ & Magnolia drama. But the last 3/4 of the book were the best part and made it fly by and were the redeeming quality. And that cliffhanger at the end… oh my.

The emotional damage that was done to me in this book was astronomical. With how things left off in book 1, I knew things were going to be tense. But with all of that knowledge in the forefront, you also get more backstory and knowledge about BJ and Magnolia's past together, and BOY did that hurt. I was in tears multiple times throughout this book, but I still had hope that they would overcome it all. My heart was still rooting for them through everything, but once again--nothing is so simple. The ending of this book WRECKED MY SOUL. I don't think I will ever recover from the pain that it brought me.

Read this book for the closure. Stopped where it SHOULD have ended because ik the author wont give me it. Ignoring some of the frustratingly stupid parts... Great read. Had so much fun. It actually managed to soften my perspective of BJ, tho still not much of a fan of him. Magnolia's adventures was a rollercoaster like always and she has a genuine moment of potential great character development (that of course the author ruined but i shall pretend she didn't)

This is how I shall remember this book ending:
she has her lil darkening moment WHICH I LOVE AND IS MY FAV PART OF THIS GOD FORSAKEN SERIES. Julian Haites and Magnolia are my fav couple in this series to be fucking real (tho no couple is that healthy in this series tbh BUT THEY ARE THE CLOSEST SO FAR IG. They had chemistry atleast). They ended up together yep and become a mafia/gang power-couple and Magnolia realizes her mental issues before coming to UNDERSTAND THAT HER ATTACHMENT TO BJ WAS LARGELY A COPING THING YEP, AND SHE ENDS UP WITH JULIAN TO BECOME THE LADY OF HIS GANG EMPIRE OR WHATEVER. THEY'RE SUPER HAPPY TOGETHER YEP.

EXCUSE ME?! THE ENDING?! WHAT THE FUCK.

I genuinely do not even know what to say or think right now. This book made me angry, annoyed, stressed out, excited, hopeful, happy, laugh, almost cry, and then just completely shocked and physically ill at the end. Clearly a 5 star rating considering all of the emotions brought forward and how fast I read through it due to simply not wanting to put it down but I’m unsure what else to say. This series has me in a chokehold at this point.

I thought I wrote a review for this when I finished it but APPARENTLY NOT!

Gotta put something down to commemorate reading this because it was really really fabulous. I am obsessed with Julian Haites thank you very much, and, although the relationships in this book are kinda toxic still, you can’t help but eat it up. BJ and Parks make so much more sense when leaning more about their history and it really helps shift your perspective if you were kinda over their back and forth previously.
THE ENDING!!!???

Already halfway through the next book which, spoiler, I’m also loving.

Wow wow wow. I am so glad that I am finally back to reading this series. I’ve missed these characters and this world. And what a journey we all just went on.

First, I have to say that putting BJ in therapy and then having him actually give a shit about him and Magnolia repair their relationship by being friends first was the absolute best way to get me back on board with them. And now I’m dying to get to book 5 to see their happy ending once and for all. Additionally, I also loved that we got more of the backstory behind when and where Magnolia and BJ lost track of each other and when/where they fully intertwined their lives. And why they felt they were “written in the stars.” Despite the darkness of their story, it was still so beautiful to get some clarity around their relationship.

I also absolutely *adored* the Daisy/Christian snippets that we got in this book. I absolutely devoured their first book so can’t wait to read book 4 and get their perspective on all the events that transpired.

This book was such a treat to read. All 530 pages. Even when I was frustrated, it was because I deeply cared about the characters and wanted better for them. And then they FINALLY got it for themselves. I was so proud of Magnolia and BJ for finally getting their shit together.

BUT THAT ENDING?! ARE WE FUCKING KIDDING?! I’m confused and angry and concerned. I need to know what’s up immediately. IMMEDIATELY. 🥹🥲💀🤬👏🏼🤯
