Do you know that feeling when you're reading a book and you just know that the story you're reading will stay with you forever? That feeling when you can almost feel the characters settling in a piece of your heart?

That's what I felt whilst reading Rock Redemption. I just knew this book was so important that I couldn't rush, I couldn't quickly read a few pages on the bus or during lunch. So I took my time and read one of my favorite stories up 'til now.

I can only urge you to read this story and open your heart to these wondeful characters. You won't regret it, you can take my word on that!

I had been waiting to read Noah's story ever since I read Rock Addiction about one year ago. Although I loved Fox and his tats, Noah kind of intrigued me. I couldn't wait to know why the demons were haunting him. So of course, I couldn't be happier when I got an ARC from Nalini Singh herself (thanks again!). I started reading and immediately got sucked into the story.

As always, Nalini wrote this beautiful story about two characters, each fighting their own demons, who fall in love. But this time was different. Noah had this selfdestructing idea that made him build a mile high wall around himself, and when he got the feeling Kit was climbing over the top and getting too close he did something he could never take back -- he broke her heart.

I normally never connect with the heroine, or have a hard time doing exactly that, but I felt connected with Kit immediately. I felt so bad for her, because she genuinely loves Noah and accepts him the way he is, despite all of Noah's attempts to change her feelings about him.

I honestly don't know how Kit found the strength within her to forgive him. I don't think I could've done it if I were in her shoes. But that's the beauty of Kit's character: she got hurt by the man she loved, but still found it in her heart to give him a second (and some) chance and to make it work.

One of the many things I loved about this book is that we got to see more of the other characters, like we did in Rock Addiction. The reason why I loved this so much, is because it makes the story more real in my opinion. Plus, it's just nice to see how the band interacts, to see that they all have each other's backs and will do whatever it takes to keep everyone safe.

Yet another wonderful love story that will make your real life expectations rise so high, no one will ever be able to meet them...

This book starts off with Kit rescuing Noah and continues with an heart breaking story of two people's journey to love. At times this book was gut wrenching and I got so angry at Noah but in the end he redeemed himself and you see how to works towards moving forward and putting his past behind him. This author creates with words pictures and emotions that make you feel everything that the characters are going through which meant I didn't always enjoy reading it but by reading through the pain you get to also experience the happiness which is why in my opinion this book is worthy of 5 stars

4 stars.

This was an emotional ride.

Holy crap.

From the first chapter, I knew what Kit was going to walk in on and I knew this would be a...strain on my heart but I also knew at the end my heart would be healed...mostly. Rock Redemption turned out to be one of those stories that I understood why the characters did what they did but I didn't like it at the same time. My emotions were so split on this one.

Noah, on the one hand, I completely understand why he would push Kit away the way he does, however on the other hand I'm pissed at him for treating her that way both in the beginning and throughout the story. He does clearly care about her but how he goes about "protecting" her from himself, only hurts her, probably more than if he just hauled off and hit her.

Kit, my heart went out to her, she loves Noah, they have a deep connection but I wanted her to really move on and have Noah fight for her. He loves her too, that's clear as well but he won't get his head out of his ass and talk to Kit about why he doesn't think he's good enough for her.

I loved this story, Nalini Singh always brings it, but I wanted to pull my hair out in frustration a lot.

Ahhhhh soooo happy to read the story of Noah and Kit ><
Once upon a time Noah and Kit had a love story worthy of a fairy tale but Noah's destructive side destroyed their budding relationship. But when a stalker happens to be more and more present in Kit's life, Kit and Noah have a new chance to fix everything ...
An AWESOME book by one of my favorites author : a fluid and amazing writing, some splendid descriptions, a story full of nuances and emotions and many tortured characters, full of secrets, human and just terribly endearing ><
I fell slowly but surely in love with Noah (although Gabriel is still my favorite xD)
I didn't expect at all the identity of the stalker so it was a bit of a bonus =)
In short, a TOTALLY MUST-READ >< I'm looking forward to read the story of Abe and Sarah =D

Contemporary, friends to lovers, rock and roll romance. Up and coming actress Kit Devigny has known and been friends with the guys in the band since before they hit. The media tried to pair her up with any and all of the guys at one time or another. The only guy she has wanted is guitarist Noah St. John. Noah’s issues make him an ass toward women but he is regretting the pain he gave her and the loss of her friendship. When circumstances put him in a place where Kit will be forced to spend time with him Noah sees an opportunity to make things right. But Kit is no pushover and Noah may very well have to bleed for her forgiveness.
Nalini Singh is a fabulous wordsmith. This book dragged me in and made me feel. I laughed, cried, got angry and sighed. This book will remind you that you have a heart.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Light on actual romance but heavy on angst and relationship building. I liked this one-- probably because rockers with troubled pasts are my kryptonite. Singh is a good writer and she sells Noah's inner demons without being heavy-handed. I probably would have enjoyed it more had I read the previous two books in he series as I wasn't aware of some of the backstory for some of the other couples but I didn't really have trouble following.

Synopsis:

From New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh comes the next contemporary romance in the Rock Kiss series…

Kit Devigny could have loved rock guitarist Noah St. John. Their friendship burned with the promise of intense passion and searing tenderness…until the night Noah deliberately shattered her heart.

Noah knows he destroyed something precious the night he chose to betray Kit, but he’d rather she hate him than learn his darkest secret. All he has left is his music. It’s his saving grace, but it doesn’t silence the voices that keep him up at night. Chasing oblivion through endless one-night-stands, he earns a few hours’ sleep and his bad boy reputation.

When a media error sees Noah and Kit dubbed the new “it” couple, Kit discovers her chance at the role of a lifetime hinges on riding the media wave. Wanting—needing—to give Kit this, even if he can’t give her everything, Noah agrees to play the adoring boyfriend. Only the illusion is suddenly too real, too painful, too beautiful…and it may be too late for the redemption of Noah St. John.

Review:

I've been reading a few of these rock star contemporary romances of late and enjoying the opportunity to take a break from the more gritty, hard-hitting crime and psychological thrillers that I typically read.

Whilst there are no major surprises here, there is no need of them. Kit and Noah's story is heartfelt, emotional and intense in all the right places. Both characters are well developed and the plot is thoughtful.

Although I've not read the first two books in the Rock Kiss series, I don't feel this hampered my understanding or enjoyment of Rock Redemption in the slightest - I will, however, now add them to my TBR list.

Trigger Warning:
Spoilerpedophile, sexual assault

Rock Redemption more like No Redemption from me. Noah took his time to be a decent human being. If he actually tried, I wouldn't mind it that much. But with a trauma this big I would have expected him to go to therapy early on. I understand that his parents also messed up but this book actually promotes that pills are bad and if you are a famous person going to therapy, media will somehow know.
First off, in Noah's case sleeping pills make him unable to wake up and since he has nightmares it is bad for him. But. There are so many different sleeping pills. If he actually bothered to consult to a doctor he could have found one that worked for him. Or maybe some other thing that would actually help him.
Secondly, I'm pretty sure a lot of famous people go to therapy and we never hear about their messed up lives. I wouldn't give this book 1 star if he actually sought professional help rather than Kit trying to help him from the knowledge she learned online. She actually reads forums online about abuse survivors.

So... the romance was toxic, the topic wasn't handled well and even the whole stalker plotline was done badly. Unfortunately, this is the worst Nalini Singh book I have ever read.

sigh. even Nalini Singh couldn't make me like rockstar romance. They're always so "we can't be together, I'm too broken to love you but please don't leave me"
