Loved seeing Bell and Emma back together and how their relationship progressed. I thought the concept of this book was really interesting and that it seemed realistic in Emma’s reactions to the situation.

I didn’t love the ending but I think that’s just because I didn’t realize that there most likely would be another book after this one.

Okay so this was my most anticipated book of the year even though I only read the first book in January. But OMG! IT WAS SO GOOD!

I highly recommend this book if you enjoy criminal minds, it has very similar vibes but a lot more in depth in regards to the workings of the behavioral analysis unit and just investigations in general

Here are my in depth thoughts as I have many so ⚠️spoilers ahead!
1. I love Emma and Travis, they are both so distinct in character but also work so well together. Their characters are just so well thought out and are very relatable in so many different ways. Also them together are just so cute, they are so supportive of each other

2.Screw you Simon! Don’t get me wrong I actually really enjoyed Simon in the first book but his actions and dialogue in the book made me hate him. The thing that really rubbed me the wrong way was finding out he had seen videos of Emma when she was with Huxton but he never told her so for like two whole books he was bantering with Emma like they had no real connection but he actually already knew everything about her

3. Going back to the videos of Emma… I had to stop reading the book as I began feeling physically ill! As in sick to the stomach about the thought of someone having to go through that. I grew up watching/ listening to true crime and horror but this for some reason really impacted me…

I have mixed feelings on this one. It definitely wasn't as good as the first one in my opinion. However, I'm excited for what seems like will be another book in this series. I feel like Simon wasn't enough of a part of this book. And also Emma and Travis were so wrapped up in their relationship and their feelings, understandably on Emma's part that they missed obvious signs of deception.

I was so excited when I saw that None Shall Sleep is getting a sequel because I love the first book and I’d love to get back to meet the characters again, Travis and Emma!

If you're looking for a police procedural thriller story with 80’s setting and serial killer on the loose then you’ll have to pick this one up!

The plot started out 3 months after what happened on the 1st book, Emma was once again called to help the FBI to catch another serial killer. But this is not just any case, this one is personal to Emma which is affecting herself more than she realize by bringing back bad memories.

The characters are complex and well developed, for both main characters and even the serial killer – Simon.
I admire Emma’s character, we see her struggling at first but still remain strong and brave to work and catch the killer so no other girls will suffer the same fate as her.

This book focuses a lot more about Emma’s feelings and thoughts, so it feels like Travis is being pushed aside a little bit. I wish we got to see him more in action and his feelings towards Emma and his new job.
As for the romance, the progress is slow but I can feel the strong bond of trust between them. I hope their feelings will be a lot more explored in the next book.

Overall, it’s a good sequel to None Shall Sleep. The last few chapters are really tense and gripping which makes it so hard to put down!

Thank you to TBR and Beyond Tour, Netgalley, author and publisher for giving me an e-ARC of the book and for having me on this book tour. I’m leaving this review voluntarily!

An impeccable follow-up to None Shall Sleep. The characters are fleshed out more in this book, which raises the stakes. There's so much more about Emma's past and the case that brought her to the FBI, which is handled so well. We see her as a victim, as a bad ass, and importantly, as a girl who has forced herself to be strong in response to trauma.
Some Shall Break also provided more insight into Kristin, who is a fascinating character. There are still so many unanswered questions about her and Simon and their dynamic as twin. I also think this book did a better job of showing readers that Simon is just a psychopath. He played as charming and civilized in the first book, but his nature is further highlighted in this.
The relationships is where this book shines. Bell and Emma understand each other and the pull he feels as a protector, especially towards Emma is what drives any of the conflict between them.
I can't wait for the next book! (Which I'm assuming is coming at some point).
