I really liked book 1.. sadly this book is another one that falls under the second book in a series curse.

SpoilerI disliked Chad, really much, but also Stacey. You just broke up (did they break up) with Chad and then at the end you are already kissing another dude? Wait what? Did you even love/like Chad?

It was a boring book, the ending was ok, but felt much to hurried. Like the book had to be finished. All that build up, for nothing. :\

This one was definitely better than the first and I think I give that credit to Jacob - who is by far the best character to come out of this series so far. I like how the author kept him very secretive literally up until the last minute. I don't think there was really one thing I didn't like about him.

Now, as for everyone else...I like PJ, he's entertaining and always good for a laugh. Amber, I really just don't get. Chad - no comment. Drea - hmph...bitch and worst friend ever (I don't think my opinion of her is ever going to change).

The story line of this book felt a little more suspensful than the first book and I think because it had to deal with Stacey directly and her possible death. I still wish Stacey would grow a backbone though and actually stand up for herself.

Moving onto #3...

This book was amazing! I completely feel in love with this series. White Is for Magic is cleverly written and had me guessing until the very end. The author's use of language helped me imagine being in Stacey's shoes.

I liked how the author re wrote "Miss Mary Mack" for this story. It fit the story really good and it the descriptions in the book made it seem so real.

I love the character added to this series, Jacob.

White Is for Magic is one of the best books I've ever read.
I recommend it to anyone who loves suspense, a little romance and magic :)

I loved the addition of Jacob to this book. I love all of the main characters in this series so much. Can't wait to reread these.

Vomit, mentions death

This is the second book in the 5 book series, Blue is for Nightmares.

This book is almost exactly the same as the first book; same main characters, same-ish plot, similar story line and it even takes place at their school... again. Only slightly different mystery and a couple new characters are added.
Stacey has nightmares about bad things that are going to happen and her nightmares can predict things and they hold truth.
The mystery,(and all the action), is solved and over within the last 50ish pages.

It was a good follow up to Blue is for Nightmares. I liked who the main character, Stacey, ended up in this book better than the first. It's awesome!

If you have read the first book, then this book is not going to change your mind regarding the friendships or characters. Read this book for the mystery leaving aside everything else.

The story was much better than the first book, but that may have been because we already know how our main cast is going to act and react. The mystery builds upon a past event mentioned in the first book making the execution quite similar. The mystery build up is a little unstructured and adds to the confusion of the mystery at times. However, I found that sometimes frustrating since this is happening a year after the events in the first book so Stacey and her friends should be more cautious, in my opinion.

We had a new addition, Jacob. I think Jacob is not only mysterious but cautious and his story was laid out really well in this book. The story does a good job in keeping him secretive until the end however if you read mysteries a lot you will be able to catch on quite early. Let’s not discuss the other characters. They are just as unrelatable, confusing and annoying as in the first book. I will mention however, that Stacey’s relationship with her mother does improve in this book. It was quite exponential and not built gradually, but there are mentions that after the events of the first book there was improvement.

The story is mainly focused on the mystery but there are elements of romance and it’s much more evident than the first book. The romance really took away the focus from the mystery. The love triangle or square wasn’t completely developed well and the resolution was just as wavering. It just seems like a lot of confused teen hormones acting up (no offense!). I couldn’t really justify or find any justification for any of their constantly changing emotions. Maybe I’m weird but I think emotions don’t change by the seconds.

The second installment was a good read. The thrilling mystery was quite similar to the first book in execution but definitely not as murderous or creepy. White is for Magic had me wondering for a long time about how the title relates to the events in the story and I was sort of disappointed when it was realized. I have a feeling the series will focus more on the relationships or romance than the mysteries going forward, given the direction this book took. However, I’ll only know once I read the next book!

A sequel in a series I absolutely adore and an ending that was not what I expected which is rare in most books I read nowadays.
