This book was such a good read.  For how short it was, I enjoyed it.
It was a cute story about Duke and Aspen who should be enemies based on hockey politics, but they become consumed with one another.
There’s lust, betrayal, jealousy, and “love” all bundled into this short read.
I highly suggest you pick this one up, because this isn’t your typical pick bunny situation.
The FMC is full of sass and is a take no crap kinda girl who wants to just be happy while eating the cake too.
The MMC isn’t scared to go after what he wants even though it could cost him everything he’s worked for.
Check the CWs on this as well.  Your mental health matters.

A hockey Dark romance following Duke as he falls for the captain of his Rival teams Little sister. I really enjoyed reading this book
The chemistry between Duke and Aspen was so strong. They had everything against them but got their happy ending eventually. And the spice... the things he did with that hockey stick... gutted there won't be more of these two.

I devoured this book! I could not put it down! I loved the rival's little sister aspect of this; touch of forbidden and sneaking around was so good! I'm absolutely obsessed with Duke Lexington. He's just the right amount of dark and broody. And uhm chapter 21?! 🥵👀 This was honestly such a fun, quick, and spicy read with the perfect ending!

This was such a fun and quick read! I loved everything about this book. The storyline, the characters, the pace, the spice. This definitely could’ve been read in a single sitting had I not had to work.

The pace of the book was definitely fast, but it did not seem rushed at all. It actually was perfect for the storyline. There were no gaps, the ending gave closure and didn’t make you feel like you missed an episode… this book was VERY well written.

For a shorter book there was PLENTY of good spice too with a little dark sprinkled in for some razzle dazzle.

Most of the focus was on the main characters which was great because it was fitting for the book. It made both Duke and Aspen easy to love right away.

I love that Dana and Melissa jumped right into it and didn’t waste time getting the ball going between these two. I do love a good slow burn, don’t get me wrong but I also sometimes love when two people just meet fast so the rest of the story can focus on how their relationship develops which is exactly what they gave me with this.

Duke, captain of a hockey team who feels he has zero control over his life.

Aspen, little sister of the captain of the rivalry hockey team whose dad is also the coach.

What can go wrong right?

This read was fast-paced, fun, yet very spicy

Left me wanting more ughhhh 😭😭 too short lol I NEED more 😩 uick little read, fasted paced fs but I love that Aspen & Duke got their HEA 🥹🫶🏾

It wasn’t a “dark” romance in my eyes it was more like a lightishh dark romance, that’s the only downside I was expecting dark dark but I’m not complaining still overall good !

Review of Season of Secrets by Dana LeeAnn and Melissa McSherry
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Where do I even begin!? I FLEW through this book. I could not put it down once I started. I always know anything Dana and Melissa write is going to be 🤌🏼

I loved everything about Duke. From the moment he saw Aspen he was obsessed and always so protective of her. He was willing to walk away from everything if it meant he got to keep her.

We were warned about Chapter 21 and boy did it deliver but can we talk about the ice rink scene!?!? 🥵🥵🥵i don’t think I’ve fully recovered from it still 🔥

All in all this was a great, fast read and honestly I was a little sad when it was over. Highly recommend and so thankful I got the chance to read it as an ARC!

✨I received this as an arc but my opinions are my own✨

Season of Secrets is a dark hockey romance written by Melissa McSherry and Dana Leeann. This spicy hockey novella hits the spot and is great for a quick read. I read it in one sitting.

The book follows Duke, the NYU Nakos hockey team captain and trust fund kid, and Aspen, his rival’s baby sister. Duke’s life is going according to plan—school, hockey, social life, and dating. His plans of going to the NHL almost come to a screeching halt when Aspen strolls into his life. She is everything he wanted and everything he couldn’t have. Is he willing to risk it all?

Aspen, a veterinary student, has avoided hockey players all her life. Having a star hockey player as a brother and grouping up around the sport, she knows just how bad they can be. Needing a night to cut loose and have fun, she never expected to catch the eye of a mysterious stranger. Unable to get him off her mind, she has to know more. Spotting him at a lux event, she discovers how off-limits he is and how delicious he can be. When a proposition is made, a relationship in secret, how could she refuse? What could possibly go wrong?

I enjoyed the allure of wanting something that you are not supposed to have. The spice was great! I loved the possessive, touch her, and die vibes. You could feel the intensity between Aspen and Duke.

Thank you to Melissa McSherry and Dana Leeann for gifting me an eARC of Season of Secrets. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
