A beautiful tale of coming of age and life as bittersweet as it can be.

I really wasn’t expecting to love this book as much as I did. It moved me to tears on many occasions.

Nevertheless, a wonderful read.

Re-reading this for the third time now.
Ambrose has always been such a solid guy, 10/10, chefs kiss! I love that the story brought angst, and how these characters dealt with loss in the aftermath of a war tragedy. However, you didn’t have to do my man Bailey like that Amy

This book was so deep. Some of the stuff said was so valuable to keep in mind in life. It made me cry because I felt their pain rolling off the pages of the book. Also I cried because how some stuff happened wasn't fair but that's life.

Wow. I felt such a strong pull to these characters and I loved every moment. The emotion was powerful and it felt so real; like life, it had humor and tragedy and strength and love. I will definitely reread this book over and over.

*spoilers*
Well written. An emotional story that follows Fern and Ambrose’s relo over the years . Ambrose goes to war, comes back physically and emotionally traumatised. Their letter writing was cute and had me in the feels. Patriotism, love for wrestling.
Fern, Bailey and Ambrose’s friendship is quite cute. It was interesting learning more about DMD. I think I would prefer if Ambrose loved Fern first.  Liked their chemistry, angst could’ve been stretched out a little.
Ending was a bit lacklustre. Felt like Ambrose had to keep coming in to save the day.
I liked themes of faith, how life is like 1000 piece puzzle. We may not see the big picture. Bad things happen to everyone but we may be too absorbed in our own world to notice or care.

Another well written young adult novel. Definitely doesn't dumb down it's subject matter just because the book is targeted to young people, and while I realized I was being manipulated with the way the story was written, I don't mind because I feel like the topics are so important to discuss. The concept of how to maintain faith when you have been faced with a loss so great that you can't fathom a belief in a just God was the portion that stuck out to me the most. I also appreciated the overarching story lines of what beauty truly means, and how to live the cards you are dealt with gusto. And basically, I loved every scene with Bailey and Ambrose because I loved that friendship and how it was written.

Oh, Dios. No sabía que este libro iba a ser así tan bello. Me hizo llorar, me reí, me hizo pensar en muchas cosas, simplemente perfecto.
