This was a fine ending to an entertaining series. Somehow I found this one less absorbing than some previous entries in the series, and I often felt like I was reading to find out what happens or to be able to say I had finished the book rather than because I liked the story. However, it was good to get an ending and see the whole thing through. I probably won't read these again, but I am watching and enjoying the TV series and can't help thinking that this book in particular would have worked better as a screenplay (I have no idea how much was changed in the TV series - I have been told there are substantial changes... oh well).

what a ride. I honestly didn't know how this book was going to end with some new characters and plots points being added into the final book. However, I loved it all the same. All the characters being themselves, Holden being the hero again, Alex being the caring figure, Naomi the leader and Amos the great man he is. I loved them all and love this series.

A fitting end even if it all felt a little...boring? I think my problems come down to the pacing and structure. Tiamats Wrath had the same problem and, honestly, they should have been one book with a bunch of crap cut out.

Overall, from a series standpoint, this is still one of the best Sci fi epics out there. I'll miss these characters. I'll miss the stories. The universe. It was all great. While the last two books didn't necessarily wow me, they were still good installments and wrapped up everything in a way that at least didn't feel cheap.

It's tough to write about the end of a series, but I'll try my best. This is a chonky book that takes a really long time to go anywhere. When it finally does get to where it's going, it was kind of a let down. This was probably why it took me so long to finish this series. I didn't want to leave it with a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I won't spoil anything for you, but I kind of wish Book 8 was the end because that book was just about perfect.

It wasn't the ending I wanted but it was OK. Loved the epilogue and I think it was necessary to leave us with good feelings.
