The Monster wasn't much of a monster.

Spoiler Learning to use his powers, AFTER 17 YEARS, was super easy barely an inconvenience for Sander. Why didn't he try something on his own in SEVENTEEN YEARS? Also, I wanted more from their time on the island to show their growing connection. That part felt rushed. One signal out and rescue is on the way? Hardly. Drag it out. Make the reader worry.

Not for me. It wasn't bad but it wasn't holding my interest.

Buddy read with @iman

The story 3 stars

The narration 3.5 stars

The ending was worth it after all that struggles at the beginning, but the whole story was mid at most I'm not really a fan of the info dumping at the beginning and the politics god the politics it was definitely a struggle to get into I'm glad me and Iman were on the same page

For the characters
The mcs were okay not really complex but they're a match to each other on their own way, also one of the problem that I have with one of the characters is that the demisexual rep it was just doesn't sit well with me.

I really like the ending than the whole story it was soo good if only most of the story were constructed more on that I would've liked it more I wouldn't revisit this in My mind it was just an okay story can be confusing at times tho but I still appreciate the concept.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new take on super powers and royalty.
I'm not one for forced proximity but being stranded on a deserted island really ticked my boxes.
Tarik and Sander were snarky and angry but once they learned to work together and figured out why they had such rogue feelings, the plot exploded.

Tarik’s aha moment of figuring out Sander’s power was the best part of the book. Once his head was out of his posterior, he buckled down and forced Sander to understand it as well.

The dance between the two characters as their feelings blossomed was a delight and I sighed when they realized their feelings for each other.
I think anyone who like Royalty books or forced proximity or enemy to lover will enjoy EJ Russell's book.

I received a copy for an honest review.

It was fun but didn't all quite click for me. I did really enjoy the stranded on an island, forced proximity, one bed, enemies to lovers all tied up into one!

This was a really cute book. It took me by surprise.

Sander was an adorable MC and him and Tarik were cute together. I really enjoyed that the book focused mostly on Sander and Tarik and them getting to know each other and falling in love.

I hope the next book is just as good.

This was just a darn good time. The narrator gave this one his all, definitely went with the spirit of the thing. The world is like . . . a superhero aristocracy society? And while it probably warranted an English accent (what with all the arses and bloodies and tossers), it worked and was still a lot of fun. I mean, it’s Superhero Dukes done with aplomb, so I kinda just rolled with it.

The main characters were both over the top and endearing, and forced proximity is one of my favorite tropes, so of course I enjoyed this.
