This novel has absolutely no business being so utterly cool! This is my definition of a summer read. Beautifully written, erotic, intense, amusing, filled to the brink with the absolutely best food in international cuisine, but also a bit sad and tongue in cheek, perfectly paced and sufficiently detailed.
It is supposedly the feminist variant of American Psycho but in my opinion, to equate two books just because of psychopathic main characters is quite reductive. Also, the feminist label is beyond cringe and not a compliment. Let literature be literature and this one right here is top notch.

I picked this up as a palette cleanser after so many toxic romance reads...and I couldn't have ask for more.

This book knows what it is and owns it.
It's like Raw meets Gone Girl, or whatever, and that's a warning dear readers. Although I really like that they hide the core trigger of this book, it was a surprising element and I'm not going to further talk about it.

The story was written as a memoir of a psychopath-slash-serial killer, that's why the suspense/thriller here was almost non-existent. BUT, the narrative was so playful and classy gore, that I can't stop myself from reading. I'm really impressed by writers who could put themselves in this type of characters, it's such a wonder.

Not only it's blatantly racist and anti-Semitic (you can't just say "my character is a psychopath" and pretend that it makes anything you write OK), it's also laughably edgy, overwritten and unnecessary vulgar in relations to sex.

Includes gems like:

"In an arc as perfect as a fifteen-year-old girl's breast [...]"

And

"I imagined the relief after my hymen broke [...]"
For the love of god, learn your own body's anatomy.

Chelsea Summers writes women as Men-Writing-Women write women. In what world this piece of garbage is feminist?
