The banter is top notch and I honestly was expecting a funny rom com and then it got DEEEEP. And around 70-80% ish I was pummeled by the (see CW) and I was silly and didn’t look them up.

The storyline is forced proximity/ fake dating but it’s much more than that and I was honestly surprised by the character development that came with the plot.

Oh and the spice is spicy but like 2.5/3 🌶️🌶️

Never related to how a character and their feelings are described quite like Diana. A very emotional read for sure. Many tears shed. Yet also quite healing.

Despite them not being kids of the original characters, I really like Diana and Shane as individuals and as a couple.

Let me start by saying this: a rom-com book NEVER needs to be over 400 pages, and this book is a prime example of that. I was really enjoying myself until the sorta plot twist at the end where
Shane’s dad passed away
. I don’t really understand why that needed to happen…maybe to add some emotion to the book? But there was already plenty of that with the whole Diana and Percy situation. Anyways, besides that I did think this was a solid read. There was some…interesting spice to say the least. I’m not sure you could pay me money to have someone (especially my close friend) watch me hook up with my boyfriend, but to each their own. I credit Elle Kennedy with getting me back into reading so many years ago with The Deal, so I’m never going to hate one of her books.

it would have been 5☆ if the book had ended after chapter 47, that whole rolercoaster of emotions was unnecessary and felt rushed

I feel like the issue with Shane's dad was too abrupt of a tonal shift. It would have been nice to have content warnings provided at the beginning.
