This story pulled me into the world really well. I enjoy all the characters and the character dynamics are just so great, in this book we really get to see a more genuine growth and development between all the characters and especially everyone with Romeria. There were great moments that had me on the edge of my seat and making me anxious for characters i'm growing to love, but a few moments that bugged me, All in all I had a great time. While the ending felt sudden and too fast, the Journey to get there was fun and emotional and slightly steamy.
Spoiler
the narrative of Romeria stepping in to be noble everytime and then arguing with Zander and then Zander siding with her and then Zanders team questioning his decision making, got repetitive.doctor_z21's review against another edition

It really bothers me when authors don't do research. Couldn't describe how to get on a horse properly and used the term tourniquet improperly. So annoying!

It’s the second book of a trilogy so I knew it wasn’t going to end on an über satisfying note. That being said, I really love how this author writes her stories. It’s a fantasy world and adventure is the plot. We join the characters on a journey to a world foretold by prophesy. What this world holds? I can’t say without spoiling it. The author really pulls you in and helps you forget that you’ve just left a long work day of helping middle schoolers learn to write a short essay response and covering for the band teacher, helps you forget that you’re driving a car listening through the magical connection called ~Bluetooth~ and instead feel like you’re on horseback preparing to camp for the night next to spell-casters and vampires. You’re discovering new powers like water and fire bending, and magical healing when you’re kingdom’s loyal and burly soldiers get hurt after a wild beast attack. The plot between Romeria and Zander is sexier, which of course was fun! I really do love this series; it’s one of the best fantasy stories I’ve ever read and I hope you choose to read it too. BUT I won’t blame you if you choose to wait for the final book in the trilogy to be released because waiting for the next book is just TORTURE

*I received a free copy of A curse of Blood & Stone. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*
A Curse of Blood & Stone delves deeper in to this fantastical world where Romaria has to fight for her life every day, all the while learning more about her affinities and powers. I loved how she is slowly starting to trust herself, but she is still weary of her travel companions.
There is a lot of action, and the character development of especially Romaria and King Zander is exceptional.
The fights in A Curse of Blood & Stone are spectacular, and become even more so as Romaria comes into her powers, and what can possibly trigger them. However, I have a feeling there are still quite a big of tests in her future, even if I believe she has earned some rest, peace and quiet.
