I liked this book a lot more than the second one.

Why?

Well, firstly because Damen wasn't acting like a complete douche in this one - yes, I know it wasn't his fault, but it still really annoyed me. Secondly, Ever wasn't as stupid as she was in Blue Moon - but she's still not my favorite protagonist ever (hehe, see what I did there?). Thirdly, there was no time travel - I hate it when time travel is involved. DON'T MESS WITH THE TIMELINE PEOPLE I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE IMMORTAL AND HAVE ALL THESE AWESOME POWERS JUST DON'T DO IT!

And fourthly?

I kind of like Roman. He reminds me of Klaus from the Vampire Diaries, and Klaus is my precious baby. Even though Roman is completely evil and has his heart set on ruining Ever's life (and he also wants to sleep with her? Wtf?).

Reasons why this book only got THREE stars:

1. Jude. I don't like how he's been a potential love interest in EVERY SINGLE ONE of Ever's past lives. I don't ship it. They can be friends. I'll accept that. He has been friend zoned by me.

2. Haven. I've never really liked her, she seems kind of desperate to me. And I DON'T like how she's simping for Roman HANDS OFF MY MAN PLEASE (even though he's evil, but what else do you expect, I'm a Sebastian Morgenstern lover).

3. The fact that Ever is kind of desperate to sleep with Damen. It's called SELF-CONTROL. KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS.

4. Speaking of, I feel like Ever was drifting closer to sleeping with ROMAN because THAT'S what she thought the price was to getting the antidote to Damen's curse. GODDAMMIT EVER STOP TRUSTING ROMAN.

5. What was with the spell-thingy? What did that do? I don't think it really affected the plotline all that much. I was really confused as to what was happening that entire scene.

Okay, I'm done my rant now. On to Dark Flame!

First Time Reading: November 2020

Whyyy am I still reading this series? Why can't I look away? Each one sucks, and then I get to the end and I'm like, "Aww, that was good!"

Something is wrong with me.

Ugh. Please. Let this Girl be able to do SOMETHING! It's actually very annoying, if she tries to find something for three books and then the next three booksshe spends whining about it. I really don't like Ever..

I have to keep reminding myself that ever is only 16 years old and thus allowed to be an idiot. Again, I really enjoyed the book book but I don't understand why or however keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. She is surrounded by people that are actually able to help her and she chooses not to use those resources. Much like any 16-year-old I suppose! Haha!! I like this book, but my annoyance with the characters couldn't help but negatively influence my overall perception.

This book, it was so frustrating! Ever was so resistant to everything, and thought she knew everything. And since the book is from her perspective it made everything that even more grating. I just wanted to strangle her, there were event parts in this book she reminded me of Bella Swan! And I started reading this series because this was supposed to be better than Twilight! This book really wasn't. With Ever thinking she knows everything just made it worse.

Damon was actually tolerable in this novel. You can see where he is coming from. Though I don't really get why he wanted to risk everything with Ever by showing her more of her past and who she was sharing it with. I liked his sudden change, with figuring that karma is a bitch and you do have to watch out for it. His change was pleasant, and understandable. I think this book would've been 100times better if Damon had been the one narrating.

The climax of the novel is so predictable, as you can tell by the way Roman is narrating it. I mean really Ever? How stupid are you? Yeah I suppose it proves that she loves everyone deeply and can't let anything go but seriously, half the stuff that happens is your fault. Don't mess with things you don't know. I just hope the next book is better, but it'll be the fall out from her stupidity in this book. Great.

I am glad that the story is continued but the middle of the book was hard to get though.

It was alright. Not my favorite. Just the usual romance, in my opinion.
