I’ve reflected my self a lot throughout this reading journey. As someone with insecurity about body, looks, etc. This books helps me rethinking and more open, maybe just a tiny bit but it really worth it to finish this book.

4.5 stars***
i think this was a great debut novel!! as a more curvier girl myself i loved seeing that rep in this book. it really shows the struggle of life being a “bigger” girl. i loved the concept of the book. i think it was executed greatly. i can’t wait to see more writing from kate. she did an amazing job!!!
also LOVEEEE asher, wyatt, and sam. truly amazing characters.
i really relate to bea so that was also a great aspect. one thing i didn’t like was how long the chapters/episodes were. but i completely understand why they were like that because it was supposed to replicate episodes in a reality tv show. even though for the long chapters, i seriously couldn’t put the book down. the writing style was amazing. all around an amazing book, i do 100% recommend.

When you choose love are you picky or do you believe love comes in all shapes and sizes?

This book was cute, but to be honest not really my style of genre. I know a lot said if you love The Bachelor you will love this book, and I should have taken the hint because I'm not a fan of The Bachelor. But when it comes to books I don't judge based on other critics, so though this book was not fitting for me someone else will love it!

So on to the book, Bea is a heavy set women who loves every inch of herself, and why not?! Right!
But love for her is tricky, she constantly being judged and criticized, so she takes a chance on coming out of her shell and trying another way to find love, because she loves one man her best friend Ray, but his love for her is just not the same. She ends up being offered to be in a reality show to find love. She is judged from the beginning, and harshley at that. If I was in her shoes I would have walked out and broke contract and all..but she sticks to her ground to show everyone life is harsh but how you feel about yourself is more important! So does she find love? Read to find out :)

I gave this book a one star because it had too many emails and conversations, text messages, and to be honest the criticism can get to you too. Im happy it shares a light on how women can be judged and especially one who doesn't look like how society expects us to. It's a great inspiration for women to see how to love yourself. As the the way the book was written I just was not a fan.

I LOVED One To Watch! I immediately wanted to be Bea’s best friend and follow OMBea.com….which is very sad, as they aren’t real!! But, this book is SUPER addicting. Just a warning. It feels like binge watching a show on Netflix. The chapters are each an episode, so you just keep going….One.More.Chapter. Thinking “It’s only 11pm, I can read one more……and if I don’t get up in the morning to work out I can read two more…..”

This book was a lot of fun to read and the bachelorette-esque feel to it had me messaging friends I knew had read it during the outrageous parts. This just added to the fun of the book.

At first it was a bit tough reading the absolutely horrible things that were done/said to Bea, but I took a step back to consider 1.) I'm curvy and have been messaged similar things for posting about eating ice cream. There are folks out there who truly loathe anyone who doesn't fit their wrong images of what makes someone healthy and they don't mind one bit to share their hatred. 2.)I considered what the authors motive was and appreciated the honest in your face approach to bring awareness and challenge anyone who might reading it who does/has thought fatphobic things. The end really wraps it up into an empowering way as well.

One thing that did bug me throughout reading, was that there was a lot of telling instead of showing. It just left me longing to be swept up into the over the top romantic dates, instead of just being told what they were and how it made Bea feel when she was in her hotel room afterwards.

All in all it was a sweet read and the author made me feel like the characters were real people, who had really done some messed up things. I found myself rooting for Bea and my choice for the 'winner' of this bachelorette style show.

Really entertaining for the most part, but ultimately too full of opportunities to roll my eyeballs into the back of my skull. While I don’t really like romance novels at all and that’s why this scored lower for me overall, this is not a typical romance as it really tries to be more progressive in themes, characters and conflict. I did enjoy and appreciate themes of body positivity, self-love and unconditional independence even if it wasn’t executed flawlessly by the author. I loved the variety of formats employed, from blog posts to tweets to TV interviews & transcripts; this was a cool creative choice. The author writes well, even if most of her characters are obnoxious thirty-somethings gabbing online about a super problematic dating show. Overall it was an enjoyable read for the entertainment!

Was intrigued by the description for this book, about a plus-size woman going on a reality TV show, where she gets to chose between 25 men in a series of elimination dates. The beginning of the book was not the most positive as Bea detailed her struggles with how she feels about her weight and pines after the non descript Ray. She is persuaded to go on the show and is initially scared and doesn't believe that a slimmer, fit man would chose her, which isn't helped by the producer's tactic of getting one man to walk away as soon as he sees her. I nearly stopped reading at that point. I kept going as I was curious about how the story would unfold and I cared about Bea. My efforts were rewarded, a lovely journey follows, not always straightforward but all the more believable for that. I am still not sure why anyone would put themselves through such an ordeal but I loved the way they brought a happy ending for Bea.

With thanks to Net galley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
