This book got sadder and sadder as it progressed. My emotions were a rollecoaster switching from anger, relief, sadness and hope.

I really liked the book, how it touched important topics swiftly even if some were not directly mentioned. I saw some reviews not liking that, but I think life is made of those kind of moments, when you get to know someone and you connect emotionally with them, even if they don't tell you exactly what is happening to them or what is wrong in their lives. Now, I'm not saying is good to keep quiet about these things, just that sometimes the topics are right in front of our faces and we have to choose if we ignore them or if we face them.

About the main characters, I connected with them deeply even if I had never been under the same circumstances they are living durin the book. They felt very real in both their good and bad actions.

Switching topics, I have no idea how legal courts work, specially not in the US, but it felt almost too easy how Noor was free from charges and Sal got his sentence reduced considerably.

The overwhelming emotional journey this book took me on is nearly impossible to describe. I felt everything from rage to fear to anger to love to disgust. This one isn’t for the faint of heart. Tragic. Breathtaking. Beautiful. Thought provoking. Infuriating. Devastating.

This one will sit with me in my soul for years to come.

I thought I wasn't going to be able to get past the early chapters, with Salahudin's mother dying I wasn't sure I was ready for a book that struck so close to my grief. But something pushed me to keep with it and it's just such a raw exploration of how grief can manifest in anger as well as how that complicated everything in an already complicated life.

I adore this book. It was so well thought out and meaningful. I am not a very good book reviewer but please read this one. I accidentally hyperfocused and read all of it in a sitting. Recommended it to my mom too and she added it to her book club’s list. Please read ALL MY RAGE
