First James Rollins book I have read. Was very entertaining and kept my interest throughout. Would definitely go back and read more Sigma books from Rollins. Only reason it received three stars is because throughout the book there is heavy use of scientific terms, which quite honestly I didn't know what most of the terms meant. This doesn't take away from the story at all, was just a little heavy on the terms at certain points in the book. Overall it was a entertaining read.

I'm honestly SHOCKED that the Sigma Force series hasn't been turned into an episodic TV series for a channel like SyFy or something like that. This series is great especially because of the writing, but also because each novel is a stand alone novel in most respects. Sure there is a little bit of back story that you could do with knowing, but to be honest, I don't think it's necessary. I listened to this one as an audio book and I've only read the first one (Sandstorm) and I had absolutely no trouble with following this along as an individual story.

Getting to the actual story I thought it was phenomenal. The writing is amazing - I didn't read it obviously, but listening to the story it's fantastic. The characters have their depth and their dimensions. The action is very well written and performed. The science is extremely realistic and current. It's a great commentary on the current climate situation and the effects it can have and has had on our planet and environment. That's just an added bonus to reading it though, as the story itself is really awesome.

I got into this series because it was recommended somewhere as a series to read if you enjoy Indiana Jones and/or the Robert Langdon Saga. In this respect, it certainly doesn't disappoint as each of the two stories I've read so far in this series follow that general synopsis. A "treasure hunt" of sorts - in the Sigma Force case, much more akin to a thrilled like the Langdon novels, but also with great descriptions of history and culture that you could find in stories like Indiana Jones. It really is amazing and I am beyond excited to read the rest of the series.

My first finish of the year. I like to bookend the year with uniquely interesting reads. This … did not fit that bill. I usually enjoy this series, as it reminds me of Chricton. And this book in particular was similar in idea to Jurassic Park, my fav of his books. But that was the problem. It was similar enough to turn me off. And I could only think and compare to one of my favourite books.

I wish the 6th extinction had been my eyes!!! The first 150 pages were great, then it was unbelievable story after unbelievable story after another. Horrid!!! I can't believe I stuck it through to the end, but I had to much time invested.

I picked up the book for the dinosaur on the cover. There are no dinosaurs in this book but it was still amazing.

This was my first James Rollins book and i was not dissapointed. His characters were well written and the different perspectives had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happened when someone else's ended. All had their own role and no two were the same. The biohazard plot was well written and accurate when it delved into the scientific world. It was such fantastic read that will keep you engrossed as you wonder if the things in the book could really happen.

I would recommended it to anyone who loves science, end of the world plots and the unknown.
