I started reading this because it was a reverse harem and I like those. But I did not love this.
This book had the potential to be such a great book, but the execution was very poor, in my opinion. It left a lot to be desired.
Scarlet was a poorly developed character. She was uninteresting. If there's one thing I dislike in these kinds of novels, It's when an author tries to make their heroine "quirky" and "different". It doesn't translate as well as they think it does. In this case, it was cringey and try hard.
The dialogue was choppy and at some point childish? There's a way that I've come to expect "criminals" in a book to talk and this was just not it. There's no way in hell these guys could be half of who they claim to be with dialogue and inner monologue that sounds like it was written by a fourteen year old on Wattpad. (And that's insulting to Wattpad writers)
Sebastian, who is the "teddy bear" of the group reminded me a lot of Diesel from Den of Vipers, and not in a good way. The author and the characters tried to build him up to be the "resident psycho" of the group but there was nothing particularly terrifying about him. In fact, almost everything that he said that was supposed to be scary, was comical.
The same can be said of Tristan. There wasn't any actual edge to any of these guys.
Elliot is probably the best character and that's simply because he hardly says much, so there was less chances of me cringing at something that had been said?
The smut was really the saving grace here and even then, it wasn't anything new or spectacular. Just enough to get me across the finish line. Still, it took me like three days to read what should have been read in a day or less.
I'm not sure that I'll continue this series.

Woah Not What I Was Expecting
Really good plot line and lots and lots of violent. Big cliff hanger at the end but so worth it. I’m already starting the second one.

Dana Isaly you are an absolute gem, but I shouldn't have picked up this series until the entire trilogy was published. I loved the escalation in darkness and danger, but this cliffhanger is truly going to be the death of me before Omens is finally released.

Not me seeing every single plot point coming a mile off, but still an enjoyable read.

I’m slightly jealous
I really appreciate that Scarlett has met 3 amazing men both in and out of bed, but I was hoping she might share a bit (mostly for me). It’s a great reverse harem and would totally love to take Scarlett’s place, if it wasn’t for her murderous crime family

This book is a must read. Scarlet is on the run from her family and thinks she is well hidden. Three gang leaders soon prove that notion a dream. Kidnapped by The Triad, this book covers a woman finding her people and damn is it good! With a cliffhanger which can only build your anticipation until the next book is released, this is the kind of angst that we all need in our lives! Fast paced action, steamy and just downright fun to read, if you enjoy hot, naughty guys, mouthy heroines who know what they want and the kind of heat that will burn you from your brain, all the way down - this is the book to read next

Scarlet ran away at age 18 and has been on the run since because her own family tried getting her killed. When she finds herself in the hands of the Triad she doesn’t know if she could continue to run. The Triad runs the town and is just as bad as her family. But why would she run away from the three hottest guys when she can be a part of them. Well hello Sebastian, he might be the sweetest of them all but also a freak and possessive as hell. Tristan, well I have no words for him but GOD DAMN!!! Then there's Elliott, hello Grumpy Pants, There's always one that is way too hard to break his walls. This was a great read and the spice was on point. Can’t wait to dive into the next book.
