Finished this book in about 4 hours. Wasn’t bad but it wasn’t my favorite. I didn’t really connect with the characters/romance and at times it was very cliche. One plot line in this book even gave me the ick. (if you read this book you will know what part I’m talking about)

I did really appreciate the confession part of it. I know that all confessions in this book were real, and written by real people and somehow that gave me comfort. Even though some of the confessions were horrible, somehow someone had the courage to write that and release that secret into the world.

3.5 ⭐️

This book was so, so good. It pulled at my heart strings and made me feel so much for the main characters, especially Auburn. I wasn't bored a moment of listening to this, and needed to know what was happening as soon as possible. It was hard to put down.

I will say though, that as someone who has been in a sexually and emotionally abusive relationship before, it was triggering at parts. It wasn’t very graphic, but the abusive character (i won’t say the name bc spoilers) was written SO realistically, it made me feel genuinely sick at a couple points. I really did feel Auburn’s helplessness.

If you’re looking for a sad romance with a good ending, this is it.

The prologue itself is already painful and every chapter of this book has a secret for you to unfold. One thing that isn’t really my cup of tea is the romance was kind of insta-love... but not really? i would say this book is the combination of It Ends With Us (less sad and triggers) and November 9.

I couldn't stop reading until i know why and HOW and I feel satisfied finally knowing all the confessions. the ending is a bit too neat but it’s still great. Just wait and be patient if you’re reading this.

Let me say this first: GO. TO. HELL. TREY. yeah, he’s that bad. you hate Ryle Kincaid? Wait until you meet Trey. All Iwant is to be able to punch him in the face and push him off a cliff. Along with Lydia. First of all, her name reminds me of the Barbie Diamond Castle villain and guess what they’re pretty much the same. If I can turn Lydia into a stone too, I would.

I feel like Owen and Auburn is the blue print of Atlas and Lily i got the same vibes from them. I have so much to say about auburn but I don’t want to spoil anything so all I can say is she’s a great woman and she deserves the world. And so is Owen, he deserves Auburn as much as she deserves him.

When the author said that the confessions are true confessions submitted by readers, I never thought I would be that shocked reading each one of them. Some makes me want to throw the book, some makes me want to hug it. I also really love the artworks.

I WILL RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TILL THE DAY I DIE! I don't know how the hell Colleen does it but she put me through the 5 stages of grief the WHOLE book. You will be rooting for the characters the whole time and it really makes you feel everything that they're feeling. It saddens me that this book isn't talked about enough because in my opinion it truly is one of her best. There are little things to take into thought before reading this like teen pregnancy, drug abuse, and physical abuse but besides that its amazing [as i've been repeating this whole review] And for anyone thinking about reading this and wanting to know if its a happy or sad end just know it has a happy ending but it will still leave you in tears, and I say that as I am writing this sobbing lol. Lastly, for those of you who like a little spoiler here is probably the best quote from the book...
Spoiler"She's like a light, unwittingly brightening up the darkest corners of a man's soul."
