I have loved this series since I discovered it, but this is unfortunately the weakest entry so far. But it's still quite good so that's saying something.

Review to come.

Although I loved reading this as much as the others, it wasn’t my favourite of the series. The mystery is still as intense if not more and kept me on the edge of my seat. I think it was the fact that Elizabeth Barton, the social media vlogger that horrifically froze to death in the creepy ‘Vampire Tower’ is incredibly unlikable. I found it harder to connect with this book more than the others yet I still couldn’t pull my eyes away from the story.

Scott King drags us into this mystery as well as investigating the myth of the Ergarth Vampire as he interviews 6 people who are connected to the case. We are giving a massive insight on Elizabeth’s life from her friends, parents, brother as well as other’s, it’s easy to get a feel of what type of person she was and others in her life. It would have been nice to talk to any of the three boys who were convicted of the murder.

Overall, the book is exceptionally well writing and the murder mystery plot is incredibly intense, making it extremely hard to put down once you start reading.

I have been loving this series but it was not my favourite one of the series. I did really enjoy it but it did not quite have the punch that the others did with their endings.

The characters were of course well written and complex, as has become synonymous with this series for me, but what I loved most about it was the evolution we got to see of Scott after the last book and everything that happened in that book for him as a character. I loved the slow unraveling of Elizabeth's online persona as we peeled back the layers after each interview that Scott conducted to learn more about her and what happened. The final episode of course had the biggest reveals about other characters which I really liked and I enjoyed how it played off of what had already been discussed.

The plot was well written and created but I just didn't like the ending as much as I did with the other ones. The whole vampire aspect was really enjoyable and I had a great time reading about how it all worked out and I did love all the information about that and seeing how it all worked out was very satisfying. It was just so much fun and I did have a great time reading it!! The podcast style again of course just made it all so much better and allowed the reveals to be done so brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to see the next book.

The fourth book in the six stories series and the final book of the six for me as I read them out of order. Each story is standalone but I can now see a background arc not that this changes how enjoyable and really fantastic each of these stories are! They weave mystery, crime, mythology and folklore into incredible original tales.

The challenge is Dead in Six Days and Elizabeth Barton decides to play it for her You Tube channel subscribers but during the dare she is found frozen, murdered and her killers are behind bars, 2yrs on graffiti appears on her parents house “who locked Lizzie in the tower”

Who is the Ergarth vampire? Are the right people in prison? Why is the Tankerville Tower so creepy? What does any of this have to do with the Beast from the East?

I have so enjoyed these books, I hope there’s more, once you start reading the story pulls you in, every time, I had to know. Incredible storytelling in a really new and fresh voice. These are crime thrillers with an occult twist playing on local legends and folklore. Psychologically driven with excellent characterisation. This was another 5 star read for me.

I'm not even sure where to start with this review, I'm going to need a good long while. But know that I love and adore this series and Matt Wesolowski's writing~.
