WHY DID I EVER HATE ROMANCE
Sau khi đọc Hani and Ishu's Guide to Fake Dating và Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry, mình không tin tưởng người da trắng nữa

This was a quick, easy read that reminded me of To All the Boys, the Do-Over and Better Than the Movies (although nothing can top BTTM!) Although its a fun read it also deals with more serious topics such as racism and losing loved ones in a way that never felt too heavy or emotional. I wasn't a massive fan of the third-act conflict and the overall pacing of the book felt a bit fast but I did enjoy it.

The Black Ya book I didn’t know I needed.
I was so proud of Quinn’s growth in both her friendships and her relationship with her family.
Standing up for yourself when you’ve been complacent for so long is not easy and I love how connecting with other black kids allowed her to understand all the discomfort she felt for years around her racist community and gave her a space to express herself without being gaslighted.
One thing I didn’t enjoy reading was Quinn reconnecting with Destany. I don’t care that she’s 18 I’m not buying the “didn’t know using racial slurs was wrong” victim act. I hope we get a sequel about a grown up Quinn that’s learned to ditch racist friends.
