Simple truths, timeless wisdom. Cleo’s words are ones you want to hear someone tell you while they hold your hand across a coffee table; ones you rip out and tape to your mirror.

It's a *cute* book. I had the pleasure of meeting Cleo in DC after she spoke at a women's conference & I bought this book because of HER. Hearing her, the powerful things she said, how honest she is. However, her writing in this book doesn't hit me as hard as she did. I'm also starting to get over this style of poetry where every two words the author drops down a line for impact, but the words themselves have to be meaningful. Although there is a lot of simplicity in this book for adult readers, she does have a few gems in there that I will be taking with me. 3 stars.

"Some call them mistakes, I just call them scars that keep me from touching the oven too long when it is hot."
This was super cute but also super simple and I felt like it is more for pre-teens.

3.5 stars rounded up. A poetry collection mixed with self help and pep talks. I felt a lot of it speak to me and the rest I just moved past. Have recommended to several friends already.

I’ve been super into poetry and anthology books recently (I’m really in my feelings this year, okay) and I love Cleo’s words. Nothing felt forced and they flowed off the page. She said at the beginning that we are friends and I believe her. When can we grab matcha lattes and eat zoodles, girl?
