It was fun to have a different type of book in this series. I wish this book would’ve been released earlier on in the series. It was nice to get some more background.

Loved it

It was so great to go back and learn how Hannah started her bakery. I loved hire the town came together to put on the Christmas Ball for Essie. Very enjoyable story.

This was not my favorite of the series, it goes back to the beginning of the story before Hannah has opened the Cookie Jar and while no murder takes place it contains a mystery.

While helping an older resident of Lake Eden they find a story which is fictional, until they are not quite sure if there isn't some truth to it. A mystery to solve, while enjoying some sweet treats. Essie's story is interesting and took a lot of twists which was nice.

The recipes tend to never disappoint, I wish the story was a little stronger though as they were in the beginning of the series.

I received a free copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A really enjoyable, holiday filled story.  There was only a tiny bit of mystery near the end of the book, but it was okay for this book.  I loved how after such a long series, we are getting a story from the past when Hannah was just figuring out her cookie shop idea.  There was a lot going on after her father's death and I loved seeing this and how it set up the rest of the series.  Essie's journals were an interested plot device and the twist at the end was a bit predictable, but still lovely to read.  Now I am refreshed and ready to jump back into Hannah's present.
