This is a sweet romance.

I appreciated the different scenarios in this regency. The picnic!! I can only imagine and It’s magical! And who knew apple picking could be romantic too! Even the villain!

Abigail also was a different kind of character who had a speech impediment. Young misses weren’t allowed to have imperfections or they would be hidden. I love that Robert knew of her light too.

I received an ebook from the publisher and Net Galley for an honest review.

This was a sweet, enjoyable read. It was slow at first, but then all of a sudden there were some very fun scenes and interesting plots that interweaved together! The scene at the "picnic" was so imaginative and fun, and that was where I began to be truly invested in the book.

Abigail was sweet and understandable, and Robert was a great hero. I loved that their affection for each other was clear from the start but took some time to truly develop. But along with that time came one thing that I didn't quite understand. Mr. Mead was such an insistent character in so many ways, but he let their courtship continue for far longer than I would have expected.

The conflict in the end did not seem horribly insurmountable, but it was perfectly weighted because the rest of the book contained such a difficult life for Abigail. Plus, the Grandmother's total 180 at the end felt a little insincere, but I still appreciated it because it tied things up nicely.

And man. THAT KISS. It was written in a short and sweet way, but you could feel that it was anything but, and I loved the timing of it!! SO good.

Loved this story about the importance of being loved for who you are and overlooking minor flaws to see the best in a person. I loved Abigail, an intelligent beautiful woman who has an unfortunate speech impediment. I also loved Robert Wilkins who has inherited his aunt's estate after retiring from being a Captain in the military.

Robert falls for Abigail the first time he meets her. He doesn't even notice her speech impediment and treats her as the intelligent woman she is. Abigail is in awe of the handsome new heir and appreciates how he treats her and how calm she feels in his presence. Her grandmother whom she lives with constantly treats her with disdain and is ashamed of her speech impediment. She is determined to have her wed to the handsome vicar who only sees her beauty, but Abigail wonders if she has a shot at the handsome Mr. Wilkins.

Such a great romance! I look forward to reading more by this author!

A fun light read... I’m a sucker for a sweet regency romance. I loved how Abigail has a speech issue making her a more lovable character and she gains the confidence to stand up for what she wants.

This was such a lovely romance. I loved getting both Abigails and Roberts perspectives. Abigail deals with a speech impediment and the fact that it only endears her more to Robert was just so endearing. I loved that as the book went on, Abigail started to learn to stand more on her own and truly own her voice and speak up for herself. This was a short quick read that is perfect for a weekend read. 3.75-4 stars. :)

This is a sweet and clean regency romance. I love that it was told with both Robert and Abigails perspectives. The “villain” of the story was well written (so much so that you are wanting to punch him in the face yourself) and I couldn’t wait until he got his. If you are a regency fan you will enjoy this book.

I was excited to see this book featured a character from one of the previous books - it was great to see him get his happy ending. And I loved the heroine as well although I wished at times that she stood up for herself a little more.
